Also, can anyone recommend any good sources on how to be more environmentally friendly & living more plastic-free? It’s so overwhelming!

I'm super passionate about the subject so you've started something, lol. It's extremely overwhelming, and I stress and guilt myself all the time about not doing enough. Avoid balloons as much as possible, I recycle old clothes into wrapping paper, napkins, dog toys, pillowcases, and bags. Shopping at Aldis to avoid platic bags. After reading how much waste we produce from our periods over a lifetime I switched to reusable pads and the cup. I read a book called Plastic-Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too. That book is full of tips, the struggles, and good shopping and reading resources. I watch a lot of youtube videos from "the fairly local vegan" while I'm not a vegan she has great tips for toothpaste recipes, christmas decorations and plastic avoidance parenting. Volunteer doing river cleanups or road cleanups. I try to use mason jars for everything because l with the different sizes i can use them as tupperware, cups, dry food or leftover storage and theres only two size options for the lids (which are normally metal), you are sure to always have one.
