Alexei Russell (alexeimaximrussell) | 5 comments Hi! I need to update the cover of this novel to the final design. I have uploaded this final design to the additional photos section. The image that is currently in use was just the working cover design, so it can be deleted. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you!

Alexei Russell (alexeimaximrussell) | 5 comments Yes there were many copies made with this cover and read by many people. If that makes it impossible to change the cover, at this point, because of some kind of policy, then that is fine. It can stay like it is. I'll remember to wait for the final cover before uploading, in future.

Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers on the site, as users want to shelve the cover of the copy they have. Instead, we add an alternate-cover edition. See http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1... and http://www.goodreads.com/help/show/85....

As the author, you will have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile. Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

Z-squared | 8580 comments Alexei, I created an ACE for you here:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

Just follow the link in message 4 to set it as default.

I have also deleted the cover from the additional photos section.

Alexei Russell (alexeimaximrussell) | 5 comments Oh that's fantastic! Thanks Z-squared for setting that up! And thank you for the info about editions, as now I'll know how to do this on my own, in future. :) That's a great help! Thanks, rivka, Z-squared and Philip!

T.K. Rapp (tkrapp) | 5 comments I'm not sure that I posted this last night, or if I did, not sure I posted the correct information. My books, Mine to Steal and Mine to Lose have new covers as of today. I would love if someone could add these and make them the default cover image.

Mine to Lose:
GR Link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Site where new cover image is located: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/18070700...

Mine to Steal:
GR Link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Site where new cover image is located: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/18070700...

Is this the information needed to make this change?

Thank you so much for any direction or help.

Z-squared | 8580 comments Hi T.K.,

It looks like someone started to help you, but I have finished up. Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers becuase users like to shelve the edition that matches the one they own. Instead, we create alternate cover editions (ACEs), and you as the author have the ability to set the new cover as default. I have updated the new kindle edition to be an ACE here:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

I also saw a blank edition with the new cover that I updated to be your paperback ACE here:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

The Goodreads database is limited in that an ISBN can only be associated with one record. THerefore ACE records have no ISBN (or ASIN) in that field. Instead, we make a note of it in the book description field. Also, please be aware that we do NOT move ISBNs or ASINs from old records to new ones. The first book cover on Goodreads with an ASIN keeps that ASIN forever. I had to revert an ASIN change, hence my explanation to you.

Only authors can set the default cover; librarians do not have that ability. Here are instructions on how to do so:

https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

Also, in future, your best bet is to start a new thread with any request. It'll probably get seen faster that way. Plus it cuts down on confusion, since this thread is actually dedicated to another book entirely. Thanks!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I did the same thing with your other book. You can see all the editions here:
