I think I read this years and years ago, but I've been wanting to reread it so I can watch the movie.

I saw the movie and read the book! I really liked both. It was a bit short but the rest of the series really fills things in (The rest of the books aren't about Jonas in particular but they fill in the rest of the world). Have you guys read the rest of the series?

No, I only started the Giver a few days ago, and I am loving it! I will read the rest of the series, and I also committed a sin; I watched the movie before the book! Kill me now!

@Katie I own the book so I'll probably reread it tonight so I can actually remember what specifically happens in each chapter. How many chapters are there?

Eh doing housework and homework isn't exactly fun but I'll do it to get to my reading.

I've got it finally; just started the audio book.

4 hours long, should be able to finish by this afternoon.

Finished this morning - only problem I had was the narrator.

I hate the narrators of audiobooks! Their voices are SO annoying.

[Laura]

I've never listened to an audio book, are they really that bad?

[Sara]

I like most audio books... but some narrators can really ruin a story.
The narrator for this one made the book seem very upbeat and kid-ish, when it should be dark.

[Laura]

Bleh that would ruin it :P

I finally started rereading it and I love how it's so simply stated but you can read into it so much!
