What are you reading these days?
Thank you for the recommendations Pam. Really appreciate it :-)
I checked out the authors you mentioned, and I think I will start with Hidden (Deep Ops Book 1) by Rebecca Zanetti.
I'll read it as soon as I finish See Him Die by Debra Webb. I already bought it. Was too impatient to wait for Christine's feedback. Lol. So far I'm enjoying it :-)

You're welcome. I am looking forward to seeing what you think of it. I have her Deep Ops series on my TBR, but haven't worked it into my reading schedule yet.

Well, I finished See Him Die. It was okay—some parts were more enjoyable than the others. I plan to read Hidden next. Will be sure to share my thoughts with you :-)

Diverse characterization, exciting scenes, and great world-building made this crime thriller a winner for me.

This is the first book in a new epic fantasy series. Overall, it is gripping and thought-provoking. The high stakes and smooth writing made it a page turner for me. There’s a lot of time spent introducing the characters and some of their back-stories as well as world-building, but that’s not unusual in the first book in a series of this magnitude. However, there is a lot of introspection by the main character that slows the pace as times.

Set in Harlem in the late 1920’s, Harlem Sunset by Nekesa Afia brings to life the vibrant nightlife, jazz music, dancing, and cultural awareness of the times. It’s not just a historical mystery, but also the character journey of protagonist Louise Lloyd.

Brian Feehan’s debut novel, Harmony of Fire is an intense paranormal romantic suspense novel with plenty of action, thrills, and edginess. The author’s creativity and great world-building stand out in this novel. (Brian is the son of Christine Feehan).
Read books 1 to 4 of the Deep Ops series by Rebecca Zanetti.
I enjoyed all the books, though if I had to pick a favourite, it would probably be book 4: Driven
Going to start book 5: Unforgiven
soon.
Pam, thank you again for recommending this author to me :-)

You're welcome. I'm so glad you are enjoying the series.

Recently finished Katie Lane's Kingman Ranch series. All are sweet and sexy stories, with a bit of comic relief.
* Charming a Texas Beast
* Charming a Knight in Cowboy Boots
* Charming a Big Bad Texan: Bad Boy Cowboy

I also finished a reread of a go-to, feel-good favorite, First Class Family: The Complete Collection by A.J. Harmon. The series comprises 10 stories of the Latham family and the loves of their lives. All save the final story, which recalls the parents' love story, are available separately (However, the first book ends in a cliffhanger which resolves in book two.
My latest GR update took forever because of the dang captcha. ACK! That alone could keep me from listing my reads (and I don't even list everything!)

This novel combines genetic engineering science fiction with a techno-thriller. The story is engaging and suspenseful, keeping me turning the pages.

Anna Harrington provides readers with a historical fiction tale that includes romance, danger, and suspense. This book has a solid plot, with great character depth, extraordinary characters, and a fascinating mystery.

This was an enjoyable historical mystery and character journey.

The author layers multiple themes as the story focuses on the challenges students face in order to get an education as well as the lengths colleges will go to in order to receive donations from wealthy donors.

Deaths, an island with a history of murder, violence, superstition, child abuse, and a strong storm make this a disturbing and suspenseful story. The world-building was well-done and the premise was excellent.

This is the 62nd book in the series and I still enjoy reading them.

This is the second book in a police procedural series set in Chicago, IL.

Recently finished Mari Carr's Hard and Fast, part of her new Italian Stallions series. The series is a spinoff of and features characters from her Wilder Irish series -- "Italian Stallion" sisters/cousins married into the Collins Clan and several of the "IS" craftsmen cousins worked on the Collins pub in the last couple of books in the Irish series.
I've enjoyed the series so far (two books to date).

This political thriller has plenty of suspense, some action, lots of investigation, and an intensity that kept me fully engaged throughout the novel.

Karen Rose brings suspense, danger, action, intense moments, and romance to her first book in the New Orleans romantic suspense series. Overall, this briskly paced novel was engaging and atmospheric with diverse characterization.

This multi-layered mystery was intense, somewhat unsettling at times, and has many threads woven into the plot.

Overall, this romantic suspense novel was enjoyable. While there is plenty of danger and suspense, nothing distinguished it from other novels.

Paranormal romantic suspense.

This is a British crime drama / police procedural. The narrative is suspenseful with a creative, absorbing, complex, and well-paced plot with some twists that will keep a reader guessing. This is the fifth book in the series, and it is best read in order.

While I enjoyed this one and the premise was interesting, it didn’t quite deliver up to my expectations.

Lindsay McKenna - Silver Creek series - Bk 1 is Silver Creek Fire.
Colleen Coble - I recently read the first book in her Annie Pederson series - Edge of Dusk.
I also enjoyed Rebecca Zanetti's first book in her Laurel Snow series You Can Run
Have you tried Katie Reus' Red Stone Security series? I've read a couple of the more recent ones in this series of 19 books. I haven't read the early ones, but the first in the series is No One to Trust.
