Interesting. You are being very determined. I did say at the outset that one O would be fine but I admire the tenacity. Extra Smarties for you Sue

Sue | 319 comments So The Living and the Dead in Winsforddid get 5*! Posting again because the note at the end might be of interest here. It states that the people are fiction 'however, the Exmoor environment has been meticulously described in accordance with reality'. As the woman walks miles there is a lot of description. There is very little violence just lots of suspense. Nothing to keep anyone awake at night!!

Noooo Ian it has to be 3 o's no matter how long it takes!

Ahh - well, a matter of choice haha. Certainly makes it a more demanding challenge - will be interested to see your full list when you complete. How far through are you?

Sue | 319 comments Done DE - hangs head in shame!!! But have located all other letters but the elusive O!!! That took a bit of doing. Shall get stuck in when finally finish my round USA challenge and read England one - the rest of the UK may have to go on hold for a bit! Barbara Vine will be next.

Sue | 319 comments Finished The Armada Boy. Enjoying this series - current crime with links to history through the cops interest in archeology and his friend's digs conveniently nearby. This one links the events on Slapton sands in ww2 with the armada (fictious detail). Lucky there are quite a few to go!

Hello. Have you seen the Baileys prize list that came out today? It includes one I hadn't come across, The House at the Edge of the World set in Devon. Has anyone read this yet?

message 122: by Sue (new)

Sue | 319 comments Seen reviewed today, A Book of Scars where the wpc's sister's body is found on the family farm. Wonder if its on Dartmoor ☺ set in 1960s.

Have ordered it from thelibrary. Must admit I have only read about 4 of them. I first discovered Attica Locke a couple of years ago on a usa challenge and she has become one of my favourite authors.

Sue | 319 comments The House at the Edge of the World has also been nominated for Desmond elliott prize (first time novelists). The author is from Devon according to the I. Has anyone read it yet?
