I'm about halfway through Confessions of a Serial Kisser. I would've finished it at work today (the kids had special stuff going on all morning), but I forgot my Kindle charger at home and the battery died, so I went down to the library and read another book instead.

only 4 days in and i'm already juggling books...lol! I saw Everything I Needed to Know about Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume and had to read it, so the one book I had for Coralie's task, i'm moving to make room for this one...lol!
I'm doing the same, Dee. I'm puttingThe Mountain Place of Knowledge into 15.1B - now to find a place for The Second Empress: A Novel of Napoleon's Court - since they're both books I need to review.
HF is a choice, I have something else slotted there, but musical books is half the fun of the challenge. There are also still most of the 20 and 25 pointers to be posted, so I may wait a few days and see what pops up. I've got to get through A Storm of Swords before I start another physical book anyway.
true...i should be writing my dissertation, but i'm manically checking to see if new tasks have been posted...thus you can see where my priorities lie...haha
I just have laundry to fold, probably not quite as important as your dissertation, yet here I am, at least for a few more minutes.
i also stayed up late watching the football game (go hokies) so my brain doesn't quite want to work right now...lol!
I understand. Unfortunately, I really must go be domestic now - washer and dryer beeping and dinner to get started. Nice chatting with you.
Dee wrote: "true...i should be writing my dissertation, but i'm manically checking to see if new tasks have been posted...thus you can see where my priorities lie...haha"I know! It's killing me that we're still missing like 14 tasks! I'm afraid to post any book that is set in stone for a task in case I want to use it more for one of the currently nonexistent ones. I mean, yeah, I know I can move books around after posting, but I prefer not to, since it can get really confusing. I've also got five more books on hold at the library that I want to use, and I'd love to know whether or not that'll be possible lol
Granted, at least the challenge has started so I can actually read the books I've picked, but still...tasks please! :D
Also, while my Kindle is charging I'm reading How Do I Love Thee for 10.8, the favorite TV show one (How I Met Your Mother <3 but it doesn't resume until after my birthday 3) and installing mods for the Sims 3 expansion that came out today.
I am currently reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (nearly finished) and Nevermore. Tomorrow I will start A Tree Grows in Brooklyn or Daughter of Smoke and Bone.
Just finished Eon: Dragoneye Reborn and am getting ready to start The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I will be reading the sequel to Eon, but I need a break from holding fat books.

I finished
by Donald McCaig earlier today. Basically the storyline of the novel is Gone With the Wind from Rhett Butler's point of view and it was a bit of a disappointment really. Gone With the Wind is one of my favourite novels and I found all the characters in RBP, even the major ones of Rhett and Scarlett, are out of character. There is also a lot of errors that contradict the original, characters dying when they lived in GWTW and vice versa, Melanie knowing about Scarlet being in love with her husband, etc. As a standalone historical fiction novel, Rhett Butler's People is okay but as a complement to Gone With the Wind it sucks! Now I'm about to start
by Diane Chamberlain.

lol - yeah, I went with that and am nearly done. It is a re-read too. I LOVE IT!
I finished reading
by Diane Chamberlain just a few minutes ago. It's a brilliant read! It took me a couple of chapters to get into this novel but once I did I was hooked! Every time you think you've guessed the big secret, it moves to another level and you realise what you think you've guessed is only a tiny piece of the puzzle. I couldn't put it down! Next I plan to read
by John Steinbeck.
Yesterday I finished reading
by John Steinbeck. It's an extremely short but nevertheless fantastic novel. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The ending is so incredibly moving that I cried while reading it. I truly can't recommend this novel enough. John Steinbeck is an excellent author (and one of my favourite writers)! Today I've started reading
by Jay Asher.
I am reading: The Poisonwood Bible (and liking it a lot), Ready Player One and To Play with Fire: One Woman's Remarkable Odyssey.
listening to The Lifeboat for a 30 pointer (DLMRose's I think); reading Highland Guardian for the time travel 10 pointer and Ten Girls to Watch: A Novel for one of the 20 pointers

The ending is so ..."Not only is Of Mice and Men a good book, but I saw the opera (which I wouldn't have gone to if I hadn't had season tickets) and was very impressed with it, too.
I am sitting here with 30 library books checked out--6 of them due Thursday-- and none of them are grabbing me like they did when I checked them out. But if I don't start reading I'll have to do something useful like housecleaning. Where's my book

Last night I finished
and started
We're making a trip to Bookman's this weekend so I'm trying to read as many of my YA books as I can so I can trade them for new ones.
Listening to The Shoemaker's Wife by Adriana Trigiani and reading The Baker's Daughter by Sarah McCoyEnjoying both!
I'm almost halfway through The Distant Hours and loving it! I've much less love for A Dog's Purpose, which I'm reading with my ears, but it does well enough to help pass the time during chores.
I've still got Death By A HoneyBee going on the Kindle and started The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy last night.
I finished reading
by Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler earlier today. It's just an young adult romance but it's very entertaining and funny. I loved all the 1990's nostalgia!Next I'm going to start reading a Stephanie Plum book:
by Janet Evanovich.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy in paperback, Persuasion on the kindle and listening to Matched.
