<closed thread>What are you currently reading?
I have finished Wicked and currently reading Little Women (30.4-3), The Host (20.8), Night World, No. 2: Dark Angel; The Chosen; Soulmate (30.1b-3), Killer (25.3-1), and Bitten (20.10). My next reads are going to be Red Hook Road (30.4-2), Heartless (25.5-1), and Nobody's Princess (20.7)
had my second DNF of the challenge - Crossed Wires and discovered that finding a book with the word crossed in the title for coralie's task was rather hard, but found one
Recently I have been reading one book at a time, and then we got to July. I can't believe that I have SIX books going! The Alhambra Decree (keep putting this book on the back burner since I own it - 20.2 book 2), Mrs. Dalloway (library book that I am slogging through for 30.1), I and Thou (for another group - owned so reading slowly), Memoirs of a Geisha (owned - 20.7), People of the Book (library - 20.3), and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (owned - 5.4). I just started the last two and really enjoying both!
I'm hopefully going to finish The Sun's Heartbeat: And Other Stories from the Life of the Star That Powers Our Planet today, and then start on The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Then I'll have finished 30.5 "To the Moon." :)
Finished Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and People of the Book. Both really good reads!Still working on the other four. I am more interested in reading The Alhambra Decree now, since the expulsion of the Jews from Spain was part of one of the subhistories of the Haggadah (People of the Book).
I am planning on starting Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void this week as it is a library book and will be due soon. I am also finishing up Mrs. Dalloway so it can go back to the library too.
you know you are addicted to this challenge, when you are figuring out how many books you still have to read to finish ;) lol! I sat down yesterday and put my list together (yep, i'm that nuts!)just finished up 3 books for tasks last night - so not sure what i'm going to start - since I still have like 6 in progress...

Well, I have 53 not counting the handful I am currently reading. So no way will I finish! If I complete all the 2 book tasks (and 50 pointer), I will need to read 26 books. I might be able to do that.
I'm working on God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater for 15.1, and then I'll move onto Mini Shopaholic for 20.3
I'm more than half way done with Gone With the Nerd for 15.2, and I just started Succubus Blues for 5.4.
Angie - I love the Succubus series...I managed to fit 4 and 5 into this one, but now waiting rather impatiently for book 6 to be released in like 6 weeks...too long!!!
I had never heard of this series before, until it was listed as a group read for another group I'm in. If I really like it, I'll look into getting the other books, too. :)
I finished Night World, No. 2: Dark Angel; The Chosen; Soulmate and Bitten. I just have the last chapter of Little Women (30.4-3). I am still reading Killer (25.3-a) and The Host (20.8). I started Red Hook Road (30.4-2). Up next I think I will either read Nobody's Princess (20.7) or something I choose for the 50 point task.
I hope to finish Fall of Giants tonight, still have Buffalo West Wing going and started Five Little Pigs this morning.
finished up 3 last night - Polio: An American Story for BJ Rose's Task; Seduction & Scandal for Sheila's and Sweet Seduction for Jennifer N's...I should also be finishing up the second pulitzer prize book today in audio (Angela's Ashes) and have 2 more chapters of Kate's Summerthing better book tonight
Gosh, I have a lot of books going right now! Still reading The Alhambra Decree (book 2 of 30.3) and Memoirs of a Geisha (20.7). I have started Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void (book 1 of 30.5) and Murder on a Kibbutz: A Communal Case (book 2 of 30.1).I am also reading Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything and I and Thou for another book club.
I normally have like 5-6 going at once...right now 1 audio, 3 print (2 challenge, 1 non-challenge) and 2 on my kindle - not including the ones I finished up last night
I about halfway through with A Discovery of Witches I'm LOVING it!!! and listening to The Count of Monte Cristo
Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "So you have 6 books going? How do you do that?"Yeah, it is a lot! Usually I read on two or three a day. Depends on my mood and the book.
And now that the 700+ requirement for the 50 pointer is out, I have calculated I will need to read approx 137 pages a week to finish that one book.
finished up On Mystic Lake for a 5-pointer...planning on starting Kushiel's Dart for the 50 pointer tonight
Started and finished Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet yesterday. Finishing Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void (30.5) and starting Lonesome Dove (50.1) today. Also actively reading Murder on a Kibbutz: A Communal Case (30.1).
Several others started but not actively reading today.
I finished Killer and Little Women. Now I am currently reading The Host (20.8), Red Hook Road (30.4-2), Garden Spells (50.1-D-2) & Anna and the French Kiss (50.1-B). I plan to start Outlander (50.1-C-1&3) when I finish Garden Spells and then when I finish all my other paper books maybe I will start another paper book.
Finished Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void. Actively reading the other two (Murder on a Kibbutz: A Communal Case and Lonesome Dove) and will pick up The Alhambra Decree (30.3) to finish this week.
I'm currently reading three books.15.5 Succubus on Top
20.10 Bitten
30.2 Wicked Ties
I already finished one book for 30.2.
I started Ender's Game yesterday and I'm loving it. I can tell I'll want to read the rest in this series.
Finished Murder on a Kibbutz: A Communal Case (30.1) and will finish The Alhambra Decree (30.3) and Versed (25.2) this morning. Reading (and expecting to finish) this weekend: Pretty Little Things (30.7), Managing Stress: Keeping Calm Under Fire (20.9) and Freakonomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything (20.6).
Bigger books that I am reading over several weeks (approx 150 pages per week are: Lonesome Dove (50.1), The Winthrop Woman (20.5) and Memoirs of a Geisha (20.7). That last one is not so big but it has been on the back burner for several weeks, and I want to finish it.
And I still have 21 to read to meet my goal of reading all 2 and 3 book tasks! It will be tough as I will need to manage about 5 books a week until the end!
The Survivors Club which I expect to finish tonight, David Copperfield and Devil's Desire which will take a bit longer.
I am currently reading The Host (20.8) and almost done, Red Hook Road (30.4-2), Outlander (50.1-C-1&3) and The Help (20.7). Up Next-Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (25.5)
last four books for the challenge: The Information Officer (Nickboy's Task); Kushiel's Dart (50 pointer); Tsunami Blue (pirates task) and Hot Head for my other 5 pointer
I'm working through The Fortress of Solitude - I just can't get into it, even though everyone else seems to think it's amazing, and even though I've read 2 of his other books before and LOVED both of them. Maybe I just was expecting too much and now I'm disappointed? It's set in Brooklyn though, actually in the specific neighborhood where I was born, so I do get a kick out of every time a particular landmark I recognize is mentioned.
