I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and loved it. I am starting The Magic of Ordinary Days to finish 30.3.
I finished up Tommo and Hawk the other day for the second book in the alphabetically speaking challenge and started Solomon's Song for one of the 20 point tasks (Tani's task)...also reading More Than Words for one of Coralie's books and listening to Bloodfever for Stesse's task
I've been reading Stephen King's The Dark Tower series since the beginning of the year (sometimes taking breaks to read other books in between). Now I'm on the sixth of the seven books in the series. Both the sixth and seventh books are pretty long, but I'm going to try to finish both before I get married and leave for my honeymoon on January 9th.(I am getting a Kindle as a Christmas present and plan to load it up with books for my three-week honeymoon. My soon-to-be husband and I are both big readers, so we can't wait for tons of plane and beach reading time!)
I just finished reading The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf which was recommended by a friend. I wasn't keen on the idea of reading it I admit-sounded too chicklit for my taste but I did actually finish and enjoy it!
I'm reading The Dead Secret. I recommend it for anyone who enjoys a gothic, Victorian book. I'm totally enjoying it.
I finished The Dead Secret. Great book!I'm now reading War and Peace (yeah....I'm determined to make it through this Puppy...it's almost as large as a puppy, too......but at a slow rate of mayber 50 pgs a day....we'll see) and Tempest-tost (I really enjoy Robertson Davies books).
I also have Room from the Library and only have it for another week (no renewals!). I'd better hustle my buns and read it, too, soon.
I finnished read book"Pasion india" by Javier Moro. This book was translated from Spanish language to Slovakian language. I still read book:
1."Les derniers jours de Paris" by Nicolas d'Estienne d'Orves. This book is translated from French language to Slovakian language.
I got a Nook and I read "Visions of Sugar Plums" by Janet Evanovitch and I read in in like 4 hours. :)
congrats on getting a nook! I love my kindle!I'm trying to finish up A Red-Tainted Silence for a 30 point task (the spell asia in the title or author)...also started Against the Wind for the A-Z challenge and Lust for the mythical creatures (the last 2 are ARC's I need to read and review, so it worked out good)
I just finished Into Thick Air: Biking to the Bellybutton of Six Continents and I highly recommend it to people who like Bill Bryson.I'm in the middle of Stranger in a Strange Land (I read it about 30 years ago, but find I've forgotten most of it) and I'm getting ready to start Soulless
I am still on Feast of Crows. I got a Nook For Christmas and I tested it out. I like much and I read "Visions of Sugar Plums" in four hours on Nook.
Last night I finished off Someone at a Distance by Dorothy Whipple. It was a fabulous book and want to read more of her books now.
I am reading
and
and listening to
( actually my first ever audio book). So far I am liking them all a lot!
holy, Book ADD batman..I think i've started like 7 books in the last 2 days and can't concentrate on any of them...so i'm reading them in like 30-40 page incredments...lol!I have:
Lust - Charlotte Featherstone - for the mythical creatures (plus its an ARC I need to finish up)
Man, Oh Man! Writing M/M Fiction for Kinks & Cash - Josh Lanyon - for 10.10
Matterhorn: A Novel of the Vietnam War - for the land war in asia
The Kite Runner - for the movie is better than the book (or is it)
In Cold Pursuit: A Mystery From The Last Continent - set in antarctica
and a couple of others..lol! eventually i'll finish up a few of them
I finished up
yesterday morning and finished
early this morning (like 3a) now I am focusing on
and will probably start
and waiting for
from the library
I just finished Rebecca late last night/early this morning for the group read, and I was going to start Lords and Ladies but my dad stole it from me for his subway reading! So I started Flowers for Algernon instead, and I'm nearly halfway, liking it so far. I really like reading books that I was never assigned in school but should have been, for some reason.
I'm currently reading War and Peace. I'm not sure it's a good idea for a Challenge but, boy, is it good! Still have a long, long way to go.I've got 3 unfinished tasks started and have just received a Giveaway book that I'll be trying to fit into the Challenge, too.
I got a Giveaway book (I never received my second one :( ) , but I think I will have to put it into the next challenge I don't think I will have time to fit it into this one.
Meghan, email the person who's giving the book away. I did this once and was sent another copy of the book. The first copy never did arrive.

I am about 1/3 of the way into The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements by Sam Kean for #30.8A.

I have Zlata's Diary on my Nook. :)
I just started Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal today and am tearing through it. it is HILARIOUS.
I read Zlata's diary a long time ago (when it first came out) - i think i was in high school...we used it along with Anne Frank in a section for school about books and diariesJayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "Mariyam wrote: "Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "Okay I am starting "The Cellist of Sarajevo""

i have a bunch in progress, but hoping to finish up The Rose of Sebastopol (my last 20 point challenge); The Surrendered (second book for the asian authors) and then start Nutcase or The Caliph's House: A Year in Casablanca for the second of one of the 25 point challenges I have left...also listening to Dreamfever (second book in BEth NC's task) and Succubus on Top (Christine's reflections task)
I finished "Gwenhwyfar" and started "Seeking Spirits: The Lost Cases of The Atlantic Paranormal Society"
I am currently reading The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I haven't gotten very far but I have high hopes. I just finished the Hunger Games Trilogy and I absolutely loved it!
finished up listening to Succubus on Top last night while was my second book in a 25 point task...started listening to Shadowfever today which is one of my books for the 50 point challenge...also reading The Surrendered; The Caliph's House: A Year in Casablanca, Devil of the Highlands and Scandalous Lovers
I've got three going right now. Sidetracked for 30.3, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for 30.4 and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for 20.3.
I'm tackling the 50 point challenge next and will be starting one of my 'night' titled books. I have 3 on standby in case I have to abandon my first choice which is Night Life by Caitlin Kittredge. For part b I'm reading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Not quite decided on part C yet...
Ok about half way through City of Glass, still not very far into Outlander, and now debating whether to start Jane Eyre (50.1c), Eat, Pray, Love(30.3b), or Back On Blossom Street(10.6). Anybody got a suggestion.
