I have started Don't Tempt Me by Loretta Chase. Through no fault of the author, I am already annoyed at the book. The "Whoa" cover shows a brown-haired man and blonde woman. But in the first chapter Lucien is described as having pale blond hair. I HATE it when that happens.
I'm still working on The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, could fit it a couple of places. Also working on Winter Solstice and need to pick up The White Queen at the library. Those are for 30.8
Just started reading Philippa Gregory's The Red Queen and already love it!
. I've never read any of her works before. Now I will have to read her others and hope they are just as good.

Currently reading Desert Flower: The Extraordinary Journey Of A Desert Nomad
i'm reading The Binding Chair or, A Visit from the Foot Emancipation Society for the emancipation task and Garden Spells for the one debut author task...also have a book with City in the title; one with Red in the title adn my literature map with me today
I started and am about halfway through with The Scarlet Letter today, hope to finish it and read Romeo and Juliet. The rest of my long weekend reads includes Shoeless Joe for the Baseball task, Wise Blood for the name you wouldn't want to be named task (Flannery O'Connor), and Tess of the D'Ubervilles for the THANKSGIVING task Thomas Hardy. I really hope I get through these this week! :)

The advantages of being an insomniac is that I can sit for hours and just read when I can't sleep so last night I read most of Desert Flower: The Extraordinary Journey Of A Desert Nomad and finished the last few chapters this morning. Before lunch I got the first chapter of Blood Bound started.
ohhh...where r u using Blood Bound?? I have that on my TBR and couldn't fit it in anywhere and really wanna use it!
I am audio listening to South. I am not really enjoying it right now, but I am almost done... around 4 more hours to go. I am also reading Just Listen and I started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo about a month or two ago (less than 100 pages in) so I am going to finish that soon.
i'm reading The Red Umbrella for 5.1 (its set in Cuba when Castro first starts the revolution and then the children who were sent to the US for their safety)...and then I have City of Veils for my book with city in the title...listening to The Fiery Cross on the commute for my leave civilization behind book
Reading and almost done The Red Queen. I have to return the book on Tuesday (tomorrow); it was a two week loan and didn't really start to get into the book until yesterday (Saturday). I will get 15.3 done sometime tomorrow. I want to read something that easy and light, as I can't seem to get to sleep at the moment; probably will go and read one of my easier books. Its that or play games online for a couple of hours.....29 minutes later....I am going to start The Daring Game, even though I have a number of other books to read, but its a fairly easy read at about 220 pgs and its something that I have read in the past.
I finished South and Macbeth today. I am over half-way done with Just Listen and hope to finish it tomorrow. After that, I will start Deep Storm: A Novel and continue The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
I finished My Name is Mary Sutter and started Shanghai Girls which I hope to finish today. Not sure what will be after that.
Delicious Dee the book slut wrote: "ohhh...where r u using Blood Bound?? I had tried to fit it into several challenges as I REALLY want to catch up with this series!...
Finished
Been Here a Thousand Years: A Novel
.Still working on The Count of Monte Cristo and The Raw Shark Texts .
Reading Finding Miracles - haven't found a task for it yet, but I'm reading it for the Pick-s-Shelf Latin American shelf for September & figured I could work it in here somehow.
Just finished The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. I'm still working on Winter Solstice, but hope to finish it tomorrow.
On the Patricia Briggs side of things, Blood Bound or any of her work can be used on Task 30.5 part 2 if you got the Ps and Qs part of the question...
I finished both Mockingjay and Complete Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde this weekend. I really enjoyed the tales of Oscar Wilde. His writing is entertaining and has a twist of the dark side to it.
I'm continuing with Coffee: A Dark History. It's an interesting history, although written a bit dryly. Lots of names listed, none of which I know, and lots of dates. The coffee stories and coffee trade is really interesting, though, and keeps me reading through the dry parts.
i'm reading Double Blind for one of my its in the cards and Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage for the pirate task...also Blood Bound (but I don't know if i'll fit it in here...) and listening to The Fiery Cross for leaving civilization behind and Sense and Sensibility for the smile task
i'm reading Confessions of a Pagan Nun by Kate Horsley. i've only just started, but i think i'm going to enjoy it. i'm also reading Cousin Kate by Georgette Heyer.
Reading and thoroughly enjoying Three Nights with a Scoundrel - it could fit several tasks, so haven't decided for sure where to put it.
I've almost finished with Winter Solstice for 30.8 and I'm also working on The Merlot Murders for 10.2.

I've been reading Middlemarch off and on all summer and have found it to be complex and challenging--that is to say complex, and somewhat dry at times. Eliot's critic/critique of her own society, or as she implies early in the book, the society from which her own emerged, is fascinating! She seems to admire it and detest it in the same sentence. Its not an easy read but its a lovely read! I keep thinking I would like to find some criticism of Eliot and Middlemarch but I question the availability of English language criticism in Norway! Alas!
I'm just about to start a 10 day holiday (yay!) so lots of time for reading :) I have The Warrior's Princess to finish, and The Children's Book (which has been on hold for about 3 months!) and then I'm looking forward The Giver, Shutter Island and hopefully lots more!
i finished up No Mercy for my comfort read last night. now onto Countess of Scandal for my 2010 debut author book and City of Veils for city lights! Also listening to The Fiery Cross for the civilization one
I finished I'll Be Seeing You last night for 15.5. Now I'm reading Undone by Karin Slaughter for 5.3.
Took a break from a 2 book task to do task 5.2 The Play must go on. I read Henry VIII by shakespeare but didn't think much of it! Returning to task 25.3 to do my second book!
Finished Shanghai Girls and started Russian Winter which I am really enjoying. Hopefully this weekend I can finish a few tasks that I have started.
I should finish Broken today. I'm debating between starting The White Queen or pulling out my Shakespeare book and reading a play after that.
Currently dredging through The Passage for Task 15.4 (Fall Equinox, first book of two). I wish I had the ability to put a book down and stop reading once it got bad. Ah well. Also thoroughly enjoying Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for Task 30.3. (Shipwrecked!, first book of two). Really happy to have the opportunity to read this one again, so good. :D
Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "I vote for The White Queen personally."I'm enjoying The White Queen. Thanks Jayme.
I am reading Catching Fire for 30.8, Dracula for 30.7, and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets for 30.2 I already finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for 30.2 and The Hunger Games for 25.3 I need to hurry up and finish some of these 2 book tasks.
