Eric was getting a bit flustered. It has been a while since he had had real interaction with anybody, let alone a perky person.

Just then a knock at the door startled him. He leapt up from his bed, only just realising that he had been asleep.
"Eric? Are you in there?" A gruff, unfamiliar voice called.
Regaining his composure, he went to the door and opened it. Two men in trench-coats and hats shoved the door open, the taller man fired his gun.
As Eric fell in a pool of blood, he heard the men arguing. "Now how's the doctor meant to work with him? She wanted him alive!" Then all went black.

Regaining his composure, he walked slowly to the door, then it hit him... He had been through this already! Was it a dream? He didn't want to find out. Grabbing his jacket and the card off the bed, Eric fled down the fire escape, just as he heard his door being forced open.

'Of all days it had to be this one,' He thought miserably.
He lifted himself off the ground and looked up the alley. The darkness did not allow him to see further than a few metres. He looked up at the cloud-filled sky and noticed that the slither of a moon was well hidden behind some clouds. It would rain soon.
He picked up his jacket and threw it over him. His pyjamas caught his attention again.
"I had just returned home after meeting Kylenne... She handed me a card... I'd fallen asleep in my clothes... I woke to a knock on the door and was shot... only to wake again to a knock on the door... then I ran until I collapsed, only to wake in my pyjamas - this can't be real! I hadn't changed my clothes since..."
Just then a figure approached him. He turned to run but another figure was walking towards him from the other end of the alley.
"Eric?" A familiar voice called.
"Kylenne?" Eric answered.
"Eric?" The same voice called from the other end of the alley.
Eric turned to face the second figure, "Kylenne?"
Suddenly both figures vanished - "FIND ME!" Both voices echoed.
Eric awoke in the alley. He checked his clothes - they weren't his pyjamas. He ran his hands through his pockets - in one hand he produced the card Kylenne had given him, in the other he had his phone.

Where was he? How far away from his apartment? Would it be safe to return? Was Kylenne safe? Was the image of two Kylennes a dream or another premonition?
He had to figure things out. He needed to find somewhere safe to hide out. Until he cleared his head. Until he knew what to do next. Until the world around him, the world he had so carefully concealed himself from, didn't seem to be falling apart.

Where was he? How far away from his apartment? Would it be safe to return? Was Kylenne safe? Was the image of two Kylennes a dr..."
He grunted in frustration. "Where had figuring out things for myself got me in the past?" He thought aloud, "Right here. In an alleyway being chased by... I don't even know who! How can I figure out anything when I don't even trust what I see anymore?"
He raised the card again and found his thumb dialling the number into his phone.

Racing out of the alley with his hands to his ears, the wailing continued. As he got to the main street, Eric stopped. Surely this wasn't it!
"I no gotta ze chocolate donut for you!" A donut cart vendor stated forcefully.
A boy, no more than five-years-old, was wailing at the top of his lungs, while his mother and father tried to console him.
Eric took a deep breath and conceded that he may just be a little too jumpy about everything that was going on.

The date read March 3rd 2033. The vendor was looking at him like he was insane and holding out the dollar bill.

The vendor glared at him, "You buyin' the paper mate? 'Cos a dollar just aint gonna cut it."
Eric looked at him. "How much?"
But the answer never came. BOOM! The world around him trembled and a huge ball of fire made its way through the city destroying everything in its path.
"You can't be sleeping here, sir." Eric awoke to two policemen standing over him. They helped him to his feet. "Can we please see some identification, sir?"
"I... are you real?" Eric questioned, as he ran his hands over his pockets to try and find his wallet.
"Excuse me, sir?"
"I... there's something not right... with me..."
"Have you been drinking?" The second officer asked, "Any drugs?"
Eric shook his head. "No..." He pulled out his mobile phone and a certain card. "This woman... Kylenne... gave me this card and..."
The policemen nodded at each other. "It's him." Grabbing him by either arm, the two officers began to drag him to their awaiting vehicle. "Sir, you need to come with us."

"Hey! Where are we going?" Eric shouted, "You're not..." Someone in the van made his world turn dark.

"This isn't real." He said to himself, "I'm just seeing things again." He rolled onto his back. "This is not real! This is not real!" He began shouting.
"Somebody shut him up!" An angry voice yelled from the driver's seat.
Eric felt a sharp blow to his stomach and saw a large, Asian man hovering above him. "You shut your mouth and enjoy the drive." The large man growled.
Eric rubbed his pained stomach. "This is real." He thought.
The van suddenly came to a halt and Eric was hauled out of the back and dumped unceremoniously onto the ground.
"Get the doctor. She wanted to see him as soon as he was brought in." The driver ordered one of the guards that was stationed at the gate of the facility.
"Where are we?" Eric questioned as he looked about at the factory-like building sprawled out in front of him.
"No talking!" The large, Asian man commanded, as he shoved him forward. "You walk and be quiet."
The driver led them across an empty yard towards a door guarded by two gunmen. They allowed them through the door and the driver signalled for Eric to stop. Just to make sure he did stop, the large man grabbed Eric's shoulder and held him in place.
"Eric, nice to see you again!" A woman walked through a door at the far end of the corridor.
"Kylenne?"

"Kylenne?"

Eric shrugged the large thug away before stepping towards Kylenne. "Was all of this really necessary? I mean, if they had of told me that you were looking for me, I would have come."
"Well, really Eric, we didn't know what would be necessary to return you here." Kylenne stated, as she led Eric and the thugs up a ramp to a blue door. "You were never fond of this place and we figured you might just stay on the run if we didn't organise your return to us."
"You keep calling this a return... But... but, I've never been here before... at least I don't think I have..." Eric racked his brain trying to remember, but nothing was familiar.
"Maybe this will jog your memory..." Kylenne announced, as she opened the blue door and the thugs pushed Eric inside.
