Trying to remember this angsty paranormal-romance from the last 10 yrs with a wolf shifter who has major regrets when his mate sees proof of his manwhore past.

The hero was a wolf shifter and the Alpha's son and his father kept calling in females from all over the country trying to mate or marry him off on a trial basis. The hero didn't really want the same thing but it was easier to go along with the "mate-testings" to get his father off his back. However, when he met his actual mate it was NOT in that way. I think she was homeless or on the run from someone and managed to come across someone willing to help her when she stumbled upon a bar or restaurant. The hero either owned the place or lived above it, and he smelled the heroine that his friend decided to help and knew she was his mate. Don't ask me why he had to test a mating with the other women if he could know his mate by scent, but whatever. I think the heroine was human but I'm not positive. One definite scene I remember is her coming across one of his bedroom drawers completely filled with boxes of condoms, like literally hundreds of them! And one of those wolfy skanks even showed up unannounced and made a huge scene in front of the heroine when the hero wasn't willing to have sex with her right then and there even though his father sent her to be "tested." So gross! But I wanted to read this book again because the hero's extreme regret and self-disgust for his past was really satisfying to read. I'm in the mood once again for some really angsty paranormal romance. Does anyone remember this book?
