Helloo...and yes i know..i'm late...again!

It's early Monday morning...which means i can take my time, and type this out properly....'Typos' ought to be my middle name oughtn't it?!

First up, this week marks the 2nd anniversary, since we all 'emigrated' to Goodreads, along with Theme 157 which was in mid play at the time. Since then, we've had a further 77 Theme rounds & 25 Cream of rounds, played out. I can't believe it's been nearly 2 years since I took over the reins from Nick on October 26th.....2 years.....already?!

Anyhoo..It's my turn folkiepoos, so here be the 78th theme, which is:

'Two-fer-one' songs - Any track that's really two songs in one.'

I hope you folks know what you should be looking for, but just in case you don't..i did provide an explanation to Nick on the last round; here's a condensed edit of that:

On some albums, there are sometimes 2 or more (but try and keep it to 2, please.) songs 'joined' together. These tracks can either be listed with a forward slash between the two song titles, & listed together on a single track listing; or a song that seemlessly leads into the next one. Sometimes, on the radio, these songs get played together, &/or you'll find these tracks listed as one 'song' on YT. They are sometimes known as 'Conjoined twin' or 'Siamese Twin' tracks. These songs may have a similar rhythym/bass line running through both tracks, or they may change completely as one feeds into the next, usually seemlessly, although some may have a slight pause in the middle.

This shouldn't be confused with mash ups (as we've already done that theme), or remixed or sampled tracks (known as multiplex songs); just the original songs that are 'joined' on the albums.

Typical examples:

Boney M's - 'Nightflight to Venus/Rasputin'
The White Stripes' - 'Pricky Thorn, But Sweetly Worn/St. Andrew' Green Day - 'Brain Stew/Jaded', also 'Last of the American Girls/Murder City',
Weezer - 'Pink Triangle', which leads straight into 'Falling for You'
The Doors - 'Peace Frog/Blue Sunday'
Syd Barrett's - 'Waving My Arms In The Air/I Never Lied To You' And Pink Floyd has several possibles, like 'Empty Spaces' which is rarely ever played without it's lead intro track 'Young Lust'.

NB: The above webpage, doesn't provide that many possible choices, nor does it give any info on those double tracks listed as one (i couldn't find anything on those ones), but it'll serve as guide to what you should be looking for.

Val....you can nominate that one you mentioned on the other round if you wish. It's not technically fitting the theme, as it should be full recorded songs..rather than a musician forgetting what song he was playing! But i'm keen to hear it, for my amusement if for nothing else! :-D
