The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
question
Diaz's use of comic book/ fantasy. Thoughts?

This the only novel I've read that draws so deeply from the world of comics and fantasy (if anyone knows any others, do recommend). Do you think it works? Is it too simplistic at times, rarely going beyond the metaphorical? What do you think it says about comic book ideology?

That is one of the parts of the novel i didn't enjoy, is too simplistic like you said, he doesn't even bother to describe a feeling.
