Have you read any of J. R. Ward' Black Dagger Brotherhood or Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed books? I know you like Vamp, urban fantasy, etc. I was just wondering. I was just trying to see if anyone in this group had read these books..........thought of you first off.

I have the first in the series of both but haven't read them yet. I think I read maybe one of Lara's that isn't a series read though. I like the covers of these books.
i haven't read Adrians books but, I love Ward's Black Dagger series. I've read them all and look forward to a new one.
thanks Merrilee and Donnajo, I never saw them listed by anyone and wondered if anyone else read them. Adrian's books are almost exactly like Ward's. Sucked me in right from the first page. There are almost like an addiction.
I haven't read any of these yet. They're really popular on a couple of the UF boards I post on, so have put them on my "to read" list.

UF is urban fantasy. It's fantasy that takes place in a contemporary urban environment. My favorite UF writer is Charles De Lint. But I also like Patricia Briggs. The only UF novel that has made my top ten so far this year is Amazon Ink by Lori Devoti. That would be an excellent example of the genre.I am under the impression that J.R. Ward and Lara Adrian write romance, Melodie. Just from looking at what GR has to say about them, romance seems to be very prominent in their books. So I would call them paranormal romances, not UF.

"Shomeret said: " UF is urban fantasy. It's fantasy that takes place in a contemporary urban environment."Well......all I've got to say is I'll take either the Brotherhood's or the Midnight Breed's fantasy anytime.........
AND I just read reviews on the last two Ward books (which I haven't read yet) and it seems the consensus is that she has gotten away from paranormal romance and into the UF mode. Apparently did this switch mid-book in book #6 which upset a lot of her fans. Me, I would not know the difference, well I would wonder where the romance went, but would not realize it went to UF. So glad we have board members who understand the intricacy of the genre stuff. I am feeling really old!
