Apparently this is the New Big Thang in Secular/Modern Christianity: “the Bibles not true or accurate, but through it JESUS speaks truth and relationship into my heart.”

I’m Still scratching my head over this insanity. It’s everywhere.

Robert Core | 303 comments Rod - Isn't it enough that God created the Universe? Isn't it enough that God offers a room in His mansion FOREVER to those who obey Him and choose His Son as Savior? Apparently not - now we have to believe every word LITERALLY in a Book intended for behavioral guidance written by humans with little or no historic or scientific understanding. Jesus had a name for those who insist on stringent recognition of trivia: Pharisees and Teachers of the Law.

Pavel | 5 comments My observation is telling me that there are two opposite dimensions - not think at all or think too much. People who belong to the first category are usually take everything literally when they read the Bible. Definitely, it's not the best approach to gain any practical meaning from the Word of God.
People from the second category tend to overthink and consequently twist the meaning of even the simplest passages from the Bible. It seems to me, that this way of thinking is highly popular right now.
Blessed are those who can find themselves in the middle

Robert Core | 303 comments Ha! Ha! Pavel - you might be on to something, our current world definitely loves polar extremes. Is this analogous to blessed be the peacemakers?
