Moshe | 19 comments Can the Torah Anthology books by Yaakov Culi (https://www.goodreads.com/author/list...) be added to a series?

Additionally, some of the titles do not include the volume number. Could the volume number be added to those?

I'm not sure I ever knew the Me'am Loez's real name.

I can work on cleaning this up, but it will take me some time. Do you have a full list of volumes and their numbers? Moznaim doesn't seem to, at least not that I'm seeing.

Moshe wrote: "Note: Some volumes were split into two books, like Volume 3."

Is it ever sold as a single volume? Or with the two volumes as a set? I'm not seeing any listings like that, but these volumes have a multi-decade publication history.

Otherwise, I think we'd need to number them 3 and 4, and go from there.

Definitely still a work in process, but this is what I have so far. Thoughts about the volumes I have unnumbered at the end?

Yes, Volume 3 is sold is a single, standalone volume. Unfortunately, my single-volume copy of volume 3 doesn't contain an ISBN.

Looks fine to me. The authors are all over the place, but that might not be avoidable, because Meam Loez was originally started by Yaakov Culi, but then completed by others:

"While Rabbi Culi died only two years later after completing the Book of Genesis and 2/3 of Exodus, due to its mass popularity—and the extensive notes already written by Rabbi Culi—a decision was taken to complete the commentaries. Rabbi Yitzhak Magriso completed Exodus, and wrote the commentary on the books of Leviticus and Numbers. Deuteronomy was done by Rabbi Yitzhak Bechor Agruiti. The commentary on Joshua was written by Rabbi Rachamim Menachem Mitrani. The Book of Esther was done by Rabbi Raphael Chiyya Pontremoli. Rabbi Shmeul Yerushalmi translated the works into Hebrew" -- Wikipedia

It was then translated, first from Ladino to Hebrew by Shmuel Kravitzer, then from Hebrew to English by Aryeh Kaplan and others:

"In 1967, a Hebrew translation, Yalkut Me'am Lo'ez, was produced by Rabbi Shmuel Kravitzer. The first English translation, the Torah Anthology, was written (primarily) by Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan" -- Wikipedia.

So in practice, it's a series with multiple authors and which may not have a single common author across all of the books.

Ok, I will fix the series numbering -- but probably not until next week.
