SimonGoback My husband and I saw the movie this afternoon. I'd never read the book and, honestly, wasn't actually interested in seeing the movie. Up until yesterday, I had no intention of seeing it. My husband read the book as a kid and it was amongst his favourites from childhood and has been excited for the movie. He was planning to see it himself, but then I decided meh, I'll go - mostly because of the critic whining. https://solitaire.onl/

His review: "It was a great movie. I'd have loved this as a kid. This is why I don't trust any of the critics these days."

My review: "This is sweet and hopeful, and absolutely gorgeous."

I'd read several reviews and, honestly, I feel like they watched a different movie than I did. I didn't see over-done CGI. I saw child-like wonder as part of a world of light. I saw darkness and evil through the eyes of a kid. I saw Oprah in a perfect role for her, keeping her own companions behaved, but then encouraging a child to find herself.https://bluestacks.vip/

Meg was amazing. Her shoulders hunched the way I remember at her age. She kept playing with her glasses, the way I remember. And the temper of when the bullies turn on someone who is kind to you; they can come at you all they want, but the gloves are off when they come after someone else
