Oh no! It's October 1! That means that November is right around the corner, so we need your input on what we should read next! What would you all love to read next month? Let us know!

If you need a refresher on what is/is not recommendable, see the rules. However, most things in the horror/dark fiction genres are fair game! Thanks everyone.

Käthe | 47 comments I’d love to read Haunting of Hill house! I’m down for Janz, and Kill Creek has been on my TBR.

Some great recs all around! The Nightmare Room was a fabulous book and definitely qualifies as horror.

The Haunting of Hill House is a classic <3, though I admit that I personally love We Have Always Lived in the Castle more when it comes to Jackson's work.

Kill Creek has been on my bookshelf for ages collecting dust. I definitely need to get to it, so I would second that one myself.

I'll also recommend Sip and The Last Harvest.

Just to toss a couple more suggestions out!

Thanks everyone. :)

Joyce (beagleandbooks) | 15 comments The haunting of hill house is for purely selfish reasons. Haha

I have never read it and I need to read it before watching the show.

I have been dying to read Kill Creek as well.

Käthe | 47 comments Lol, Joyce. I too need to read it before I watch the show!

Bojoura great suggestions! I would like to read each and every one of them :-)

PizzaVenkman I just finished one of the most interesting horror books I've ever come across; Lovecraft Country, by Matt Ruff. It's been a long while since I've felt so satisfied after finishing a book. The culmination of characters intertwining stories mixed with cosmic horrors and the hardships of Jim Crow era racism make for an amazing tale!

The happenings in this book are both paranormal and strange. Sorcery, a haunted house, possessed dolls and an interesting twist on Jekyl and Hyde that all tie together. If this doesn't make the book club's list, at least add it to your own "to read."

PizzaVenkman Kill Creek was a great book. It is a modern take on a haunted house. It would definitely make a great movie, the way the final scene is written out. The writer is very good at creating a gory visual in your mind.
