This is a summary of the book from what I remember, I will try not to give any spoilers but be warned
The over all story is meant to be a modern take on Cinderella, though none of the character names are the same. It opens with a girl, young adult- I want to say early 20s?- who lives in a studio apartment, I believe in Los Angeles. She moved there to pursue her designing career. She is currently designing for a mean woman- I want to say her name is candy?- she plays the roll of step mother, and her daughter (roll of stepsister). The daughter is an aspiring (and sucky) actress and the mom is the manager (I can remember parts of the story where the mom was trying to book things for her daughter, and the main character having to design red carpet gowns for them both). The girl finds a lost dog and brings it to a vet, where it is scaned for a microchip. The owner, the love interest, shows up to get the dog. He is a celebrity, but she doesn’t recognize him. He goes by a shortened name- I want to say his full name is Alexander and he goes by Xander?- so she doesn’t figure it out. They go out to lunch
SPOILERS AHEAD:
He leaves to pick up the dog, who was left at the vet to get fluids, while she waits at the dinner. While he is gone, her car starts getting towed and she has to leave. She leaves a note with her phone number and message but leaves it under a glass which condensates and ruins the message. They don’t see each other for a while. It is revealed earlier and more so now that he is a wolf shifter and knows she is a shifter but doesn’t know she can’t shift. They later meet at a party he throws, where the dog again brings them together. She shifts for the first time after getting upset with candy and her daughter, and he chases her after she runs off. They then live happily ever after.
