how do you organize your books?

How do you guys organize your books? Do you use bookshelves? If so do you like to organize them by color or would you prefer to have an entire series together? Do you not use bookshelves? How do you keep them if you don't?

if it's on a shelf I usually go by size

Bookshelves and by author. I am a little OCD when it comes to organizing books. I used to work in a library and bookstore.
