As do I. It is a wonderful place.

I were there more than 20 years ago - with my husband we came by car thinking of saving money from Perugia to see a friend of ours getting married in Exeter. Froma there we saw Cornwal and part of Whales. Really one of the most beautiful tripp ever made! All driving "on the wrong" side of the road
The 'right' side of the road surely!!!
In Angola, Africa.I live in a city called Benguela. It's calm and quiet, most of the time.
We have many beaches and heat most of the year as well.

David and Iris, what gorgeous photos!
Thanks! This is an aerial picture of the city. Not nearly as interesting as the beach, I know, ehe :)

Anyway, just wanted to show you the beauty of Africa, since most people on GR are from the North Hemisphere :D
Iris, your hometown looks amazing. I would love to visit more of Africa (I have been to Morocco and Ghana). Were you born in Angola or have you moved there/
Thanks everyone!@Heather, my dad was born here but I was born when he moved to Portugal. Now we've been living here for 18 years already.
Thanks to the end of the war Angola is now one of the countries that is growing economically the most.
I live in Albany, Western Australia. Charles Darwin thought it was the arse end of the world, nevertheless I can forgive him because it does feel like that still.
Well I live in Basildon, Essex... Yes folks at the age of 49 I became an Essex girl by default though My mother would be relieved to know that I still haven't picked up the twang-slang.Recently I stumbled across this comic entry for Basildon in the Uncyclopaedia : http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Ba...
Despite this it's actually a very friendly place to live and I love living and working in Essex.
Tweedledum, got quite a chuckle from your link. :)

Haha, I knew you were in the UK, but I didn't realise that you were quite so close....I'm just down the road in Southend-on-Sea, or if you've picked up the local dialect, Sarfend ;)
You failed to mention the lovely BASILDON sign, in the style of the HOLLYWOOD sign, as of course they're very similar places!
Oh Pink we're virtually neighbours! The sign... Indeed ....but hey we have some Olympic Gold and silver medalists among us now to stand up to Helen Mirren!
I live in Southern Spain, in an area called Costa de La Luz ("Coast of the Light" would be probably closest translation), in a small, sleepy town very close to Cádiz. As you may imagine, our town lives mostly from tourism and off season, life is as slow as it can possibly be :) Summers are HOT - this one had almost all the time around 37 degrees.. so houses are prepared for this heat, however not so much for colder months. That makes me hate local winter, although who else have Christmas lights on orange trees full of oranges?! Haha.
What I love the most here is my apartment; being approximately 10 minutes by walk from the beach, and incredibly dramatic sunsets!
@Gill I haven't been there yet, although there are folks in costumes coming from cities as far as 1-2 hours by car. I must admit I'm easily discouraged of visiting events which turn easily into wild, drunk mobs :)

Strange how many of us Essexites there are on here! I'm 'up north' at Chelmsford. I've only been to Basildon once though.
I know Paul, I've thought the same thing! I was just talking to my brother now about going Christmas shopping in Chelmsford this week, as we don't want to go into Southend high street, or Basildon as I hate them nowadays. Chelmsford still has a nice feel to it and isn't as far as having to go into London.
Greg wrote: "I live on borrowed time."Hi Greg--I know I haven't been here every day, but I haven't seen you here for a long time, and it's great to see you today!
When I got married, I moved to New England and it feels like the majority of places in England have a place with the same name here, including Chelmsford. That said, there's no Basildon that I know of. But I am a dual citizen, and this is the former hospital where I was born. My dad was a young GP (didn't get rich, that's for sure) at that time and would go fishing when it was quiet--they'd signal him with different coloured blankets if he needed to get to the hospital. It's in BC, Canada and does not have a British place name :)
Time is never "borrowed", Time is always yours. In any case, if you ever lost it, you may re-find it reading first the six books and then his last ... Marcel Proust's story ... Today we are all "global citizens" ...

I was simply thinking of how fun it would be to regain all the time I've lost in my life: grumbling on how things shoud - or could - have gone differently, scolding children who were clearly not listening to me, reading bad books....
I could live for other 40 years!

We are the times, not the time. Also, time is short and we only hope to extend it a little farther.

To recapture wasted time would be a wonderful thing indeed! What a great idea Laura - too bad we can't put it into practice!
