High school sweet-hearts set to get married and just minuets before she is set to walk down the aile the bride has a panic that she can't do it. Everyone is telling her its just nerves and to let it go, ten minutes later she is running out the church. Ten years later she returns back to her home town for her nephews high school graduation, her old boyfriend is a priest and she is trying to make amends with everyone. Through out the book her and the priest talk about what happened to them years ago. She helps him with the youth group. A girl in the youth group goes to the priest telling him she is pregnant and he helps her talk to her parents and find a place out of town she can live to finish school (group home/hide your pregnancy type thing(she wants to put the baby up for adoption)), and she won't tell who the father is.Priest gives her a letter to mail for him in a hurry. She in a rush gives the letter to her nephew to mail. Later that night it is found out that her nephew is missing. Her and priest work together to figure out where he is. They realize that he is the father of the baby and when his aunt gave him the letter to mail it was to the girl and he went to find her. No one knew they were dating because he couldn't date with football and her parents never aloud her to date. She didn't tell him about the baby because she knew he would give up his football scholarship for her and didn't want that. Young boy and girl get married in the end and priest and old girlfriend get back together.
