I read Part 1 today... as much as I said I wouldn't do it, I ended up pausing and reading something else at the end of Part 1... partly because the storyline with (view spoiler)[Senlin seeing hallucinations (hide spoiler)] is kinda annoying, and mostly because the narration is a bit quiet, and I couldn't listen with both earbuds in at work once the store opened...

I like the more varied POVs in this book, already... the variety keeps the story moving at a better pace, I think...

I'll probably listen to Part 2 tomorrow and spread the book over 3-4 days, to give you time to catch up...

I thought Part 2 was great until the last chapter... (view spoiler)[I KNEW the painting was the source of the drug problem the minute the story reminded me how the previous book ended with it covered in Krum/Crumb powder...

I loved how this section had Senlin going into withdrawals through his ordeal, and seeing his wife deteriorate into paint...

But the second he got back to the ship and his subconscious pushed him to meditate with his head touching the drugged painting, I was immediately angry with him... hopefully he figures out that he's absorbing the drug through his skin soon... (hide spoiler)]

I really liked the focus on Voleta here, and am excited, having looking at the Table of Contents, that the last chunk of the book seems to be split into 3 different POV storylines...

Not sure if I'll do Part 3 all in one shot, or take breaks after each POV chunk, yet... we'll see tomorrow...

Read Part 1, agree on the expanded POV's. as we are getting some additional depth to the characters on board the airship.

Into Part 2 (view spoiler)[ an interesting level with the Hodds and their strange world, interesting with the books being destroyed line by line. Thomas's addiction , is it that simple or is their more of a self discovery to occur in the Library looking at the table of contents. Also, yes, it looks with the titles of the other sections of Part 3, that Thomas may be not present for these sections. (hide spoiler)]

Well finished two days ago, however had not had time to write.
Really enjoyed this one especially (view spoiler)[ the third part where they finally meet the Sphinx, all the gadgetry and experiences all have. Adam getting left on the outside top. Senlin coming to terms with himself in the library, and the revelation of his wife's baby, it can't be Senlin's due to the timeline. We finally got to see more of the characters and meet some interesting new ones, including this Sphinx and his mission of the bridge. (hide spoiler)]

Yea... I found the Hod section very interesting, given the name of the 3rd book... The Hod King...

(view spoiler)[I think it can be, if she got pregnant on the train to the Tower... the baby is an infant, it's July, she was taken to Pelphia in October, they arrived at the tower in August-ish, shortly before the school year started... I'm pretty sure if the baby was Pelf's, it wouldn't be born yet... but I could be wrong... (hide spoiler)]

I hear the 3rd book starts the same way the 2nd book ends, with split up POVs, and leads to 3 slow starts instead of just one... I guess we'll find out soon enough...

That it created a lot more questions than answers... that's basically the nature of the tower :D
