Vickie (bookfan4ever) Hmm...okay. I was going to suggest Blake Crouch, but he's intense scifi thriller. Intense on the thriller part, more than the scifi part.

I always recommend Fredrik Backman too. However, his writing style can be a love it or hate it kind of thing. For me, I absolutely love him!

And I was going to suggest John Gwynne, but he's fantasy and his books are big. But, my gosh, the man can write fantasy so well!

if you like murder mysteries, i thought this book i just finished was above average:

Good Girl, Bad Girl by Michael Robotham
Good Girl, Bad Girl (Cyrus Haven, #1) by Michael Robotham
(a new author for me)

and some random books i gave 4 or 5 stars:
The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey (horror/mixed genre, loved it)
The Unseen World by Liz Moore (contemp fiction/mystery, really good)
The Death of Bees by Lisa O'Donnell (Adult/YA contemp fiction, impressive)
Old Man's War by John Scalzi (SciFi, with some humor)
The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson (YA mixed genre, thought-provoking)

I find some good books by going to the GR page of a book I liked, and perusing the "Readers Also Enjoyed" similar books feature.

Julie | 15 comments Thank you both so much <3 Vickie I've actually read a couple Blake Crouch's already and his upcoming release of this year is on my radar!

Starman I've never heard of any of these books so I will definitely check them out!!! Murder mysteries and thrillers are right up my alley!

Vickie (bookfan4ever) Yes, his new one is on my radar as well!😊

Jane Dalton (journojane) | 68 comments I've suddenly lost all my friends on GR! Does anyone have any idea why please? I don't log on terribly often, I must admit, but I still wouldn't expect all my friends to disappear! Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask. Many thanks.

Pien | 602 comments That is really weird! I looked up your profile and you don’t have any updates ‘older’ than two days ago either.

Thank you, Pien. That's very odd. I can still see my updates such as the books I've read since joining.

They say developers are aware of other members experiencing the exact same issue and they're waiting for the developers to fix it!
