Hi everyone! My name is Jeff Jaskolka and I am new to both Goodreads and this group. I am a new self-published author and just recently released my first memoir entitled TWO ONE FIVE (stylized in all caps). But first here's a little info on myself:
I was born & raised my whole life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. It is a pretty harsh environment to grow up in depending on what part of the city you're from. I'm happily married to my gorgeous wife who is African-American and we have a precious daughter together who is of mixed race (white and black).
I'm a huge fan of Hip-Hop music and it's culture. I also enjoy video games, a good movies, and of course reading and writing good books during my free time. My profession is a Heavy Equipment Operator in the Construction industry.

Have you ever felt a sense of inadequacy? Maybe you've felt stuck and couldn't see an exit from this maze of hardships? Or maybe you've always wanted a hint of hope and a small taste of success? In this memoir, you will dig deep into the mind and life of a young Caucasian man who grew up in a predominantly African-American area of Philadelphia, PA. On the harsh city streets, this young man struggled with being misunderstood by both sides of the spectrum, considered "too ghetto" for some peers and "too proper" for others. In the midst of trying to find his way, he had to cope with a horrific tragedy that had a profound effect on his family, as well as the tragic loss of a friend. He faced the mental turmoil of those who disapproved of him dating outside of his race, which ultimately destroyed a number of personal relationships. Despite the obstacles in his path, this man would finally go on to become a social advocate for today's troubled youth. Not only did he overcome the bitterness of his past, he also learned how to channel his own demons without living life in the fast lane. He would rekindle his spiritual relationship with God, in whom he draws his strength and his well-being.
