Tomkeen Hello everyone,,
This one always baffled me when I read it, but seeing the context, it now makes sense. I was always trying to figure out what in the world the book was trying to subtly hint to the reader, and since I'd already read books with female protagonists, the whole revelation people must have had back then totally went over my head. All of the weird characters and settings make sense once you realize that the point of the book wasn't the plot, it was to be a source of escapism for a particular audience.

Johnsmith101 This was my favorite book as a child. It tickles me to see things that have trickled out of it into other arenas, just from pure love of the books.

To this day, I despise cookie cutter houses, adore the eclectic, dorky witchy aesthetic. I am so tickled about the movie and hope it does well, although it seems they trimmed Aunt Beast out of the movie, which makes me sad.
