SYNOPSIS:
Two years after the global retro-viral outbreak known as “The Turning”, world governments take desperate measures to prevent a human civil world war from breaking out after large portions of the human race begin to mutate into old-fashioned human beings known as... Nephilim, beings with extraordinary magical powers but with a notorious reputation.
It was supposed to be a glorious time for the human race, a new stage in human evolution some said, but not everyone reacted well to the new blood that coursed through their veins. Many of the infected became abominations, instead of the enlightened beings the scientific communities expected. It was only a matter of time before all Nephilim were rejected by the majority of humans who still remained within society.
Many people asked, can these Nephilim sorcerers and witches, who possess primal instincts, atavistic physical abilities, and magical powers, be hailed as the ushers of a new renaissance on Earth? Some people believed in mutant-kind, claiming them to be virtuous and magnificent, yet, many of the humans believed that Satan should be the emblem of their condition, viewing the Nephilim mutants as scions of evil, instead of the noble and godlike beings some Nephilim claim to be.
To make matters worse, malevolent spirits that seek to rejoin the land of the living are drawn to the Nephilim like beacons, putting any humans nearby in constant danger. Because of this, a young Nephilim man named Charlie decides to live life in isolation, choosing to lock himself away from the world that he threatens. No longer able to relate to his human wife, Elena, Charlie finds his marriage slowly slipping away along with his sanity, and after realizing he can no longer cope with the dark spirits that stalk him, as well as an increasing demoniac bloodthirstiness that becomes harder to purge with each day, Charlie turns to science in hopes of reversing his blood curse, but without Elena's approval.
