Is having more topics about books a bad thing?

It was brought to my attention in one of my groups that we shouldn't make more topics because it's too much work. I see a lot of people participating in groups with topics about books in them. Am I wrong to ask the mods to make more topics?

People can become to feel overwhelmed with too many topucs.
