I was thinking the same thing! I'd very much enjoy reading some non-fiction related to Victorian period, which is why I ordered "How to Be a Victorian" by Ruth Goodman. However, I don't think I'll manage to read it in October, so my plan is also to read it in November.
This illustrated book of Bronte sisters sounds interesting too.

I looked up 'How to be a Victorian' and bought it! I think I'll be fascinated. (Got the Kindle version which cost very little).

I wasn't going to take it out until I read 'On November 1849, thirty thousand people stood outside a London prison in order to witness the execution of twenty eight year old former servant Maria Manning' (with her husband). It so shocked me that there were public hangings in Victorian England that I took the book home to find out more.
An unexpected addition to my list.

That sounds very interesting. Who was the author?

Theresa, the author is Michelle Morgan

Jennie, make sure you check out Katie's videos of the serialized reading of Bleak House that she did. She also did videos on Our Mutual Friend. I really enjoyed them and plan to read Bleak House and follow her videos.

I definitely won't finish all of these this month, but I should be able to make a decent dent at least.
