Still Reading The Two Towers by Token (slowed down again too many errors this week. Right now I'm relaxing on here a bit before getting back into work 'mode.')
Read Song of Sacrifice by Janell Rhiannon - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5395210969and
The Railway Murders by J R Ellis - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5467419602
Anything by Maggie Shipstead! :)Astonish Me follows a second-string but driven ballet dancer who helps a Russian star defect, in the mid-seventies.
The Great Circle follows a pair of orphaned twins, especially the one who decides she wants to learn to be a pilot, in the 1920s - 1950s.
Love this author.
Just finished reading the novel
Aztec
by Gary Jennings. This was the fourth time I have read it, it's that good! (1,038 pages)I have just started reading Aztec Autumn , the sequel to Aztec by the same author. This will be the second time. (466 pages)
I highly recommend both of the above mentioned novels for anyone who enjoys historical fiction.
Currently reading The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz which I spotted during a visit to Waterstones and then subsequently downloaded for Kindle. I thought the premise was different so thought I’d give it a go. I’m about 4 chapters in so far and really enjoying it.
I’m reading a book called The Holiday Home: She thought she was alone, but he never left. by Ashley Beegan
I just finished The Songlines, whilst travelling in Victoria. It placed my time there into a completely different context. Just started Never Let Me Go.
The End Game; A Brit in the FBI. Book 3 is my 10th book that i just finished. I just started my 11th book Capturing Tess. By Anna Stone.
I have a couple going on: SUPERLIFE by Daren Olien, recommended by my sister. Really interesting stuff. Also in the midst of THE OTHER SIDE OF SILENCE by Mahnaz Afkhami (bought it on Int'l Women's Day). And I downloaded a couple of novels but have promised myself not to start them until I finish these two.
I just finished my 12th Book called The Girlfriend Arrangement: Black Diamond, Book 1
Just finished reading The Wife Upstairs by Freda McFadden. It was really good and I love all her work. I am also reading MAC by Sheila E Young which is a brilliant read too, you can see these all under either my April tag or currently reading.
Read two more of the Homeric Chronicles by Janell Rhiannon - Rise of Princes - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5395211968and
Rage of Queens - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5395209624
and
When Gods Die by CS Harris - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5325117465
Just finised reading
Aztec Autumn
- the sequel to
Aztec
by Gary Jennings. (The 2nd. time I've read it.)
Read The Book of Maker by David Staniforth - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2143657421
I'm reading The Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, absolutely fascinating story and I love the somewhat flowery language.
I am currently reading The Hawk and the Jewel by Lori Wick. This has to be like the 5th or 6th time I have read this book. I love it.
I'm rereading 'Travels With Charley." It has been years. I had forgotten just how good a writer Steinbeck was.
Just finished my 13th book The Girl She wanted. By K.L. Slater.
I have just finished Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover and That Time I kissed my brother's best friend b Julie Christianson. Both were brilliant books in their own way. Ugly Love shattered me but it was so beautifully written and the fact is that the Rachel and Miles story could happen to anyone. The second book was a cosy clean romance. Full reviews on my profile
Just finshed reading Roadworks by Stephen King as part of the Bachman Books. Probably been thirty years since I first read it and I barely remembered it at all. I enjoyed it, possibly the best story in that collection.
I watched Naked Lunch the movie for the umpteenth time the other day so think it's time to revist the novel next.
