*Note: This is the third time I have read this novella.
Just finished a book called Kenya’s Northern Frontier and Far Beyond: Memoirs of a District Officer. Very superficial and disappointing I’m afraid to say.
First read of 2023 - A Good Hanging by Ian Rankin - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5208840780
I just Not My First Rodeo: Lessons from the Hartland by Kristi Noem. It's a book her life and upbringing.
Just finished reading Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë for the third time. I never have enough of it.

Long, flowing sentences that capture 1460s Paris in great detail, from fretted spires to Romanesque arches and s..."Cecelia, I have a question for you. How is character development in a book of the 1800's compared to today's authors?
Forgot to review The Ruin of All Witches: Life and Death in the New World by Malcolm Gaskill - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5244966256
Read The Noose's Shadow by Graham Brack - reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3700375822
Pam,I am also a fan of the Poirot series. The book you mentioned by David Suchet sounds exciting. When I went to Amazon to buy it, I was surprised at the sticker price - $165. That was disappointing to me.
I just finished a book called: Lost Boys: The True Story of Captain hook. Definitely not what I expected, it was a good read
DANCING BENEATH YOU - Contemporary romantic suspense - Captivating, very romantic, suspense, murder mystery set in the Badlands of So. Dakota - Lakota fancy dancer/attorney has lost his wife and unborn child to an attempted assassination on himself; meets a white woman from Gr. Rapids, Michigan, and becomes involved with her while trying to find out who tried to kill him, and also dealing with PTSD from seeing his wife shot down. This is my 75th published novel in 40 years of writing for several publishers. Have won many writing awards. I am a USA TODAY best-seller and now write for Amazon. www.rosannebittner.com

see comment historyI just started Cinder, by Marissa Meyer. Very interesting story. I can see more reality in this as I age and watch those around me receive knee, and joint replacements.

I just finished The Silent Patient. It had a twist I definitely didn't see coming. I highly recommend it!
I just finished a Sherlock Holmes pastiche - was so very bad that I would prefer not to mention the title.Oddly enough, two of my better reads of '22 were also Holmes pastiches, "Sherlock Holmes and the Eye of Heka" by David Marcum and "A Man Named Baskerville" by Jim Nelson. The latter was self published and much better than many traditionally published novels I've read.
Just finished Run With It: A True Story of Parkinson's, Marathons, the Pandemic, and Love by Joe Drake. A great read, very inspiring!
Miss Pickerell Goes to Mars I read this book in the 3rd grade, and I found it online. Ellen MacGregor was the first ever children's SciFi writer, from what I can determine. I was headed over to give it to my granddaughter, Jovie, but she has a cold. :(

That's strange. On the UK Amazon site, the book is just £2.99 on Kindle and £11.44 in paperback so don't know why it would be so expensive on what I assume from your pricing is the American site?

I am currently reading Wolf Pack by C.J. Fox. I love his books because they are written in the state I live, and the stories are very well written. Mystery, suspense, and a lot of Wyoming!
I’m currently reading “Anything Rae Touches” by Holly Caste and I’m so, so sure this book is going to break me and change me. You’ll love it, if anyone here is looking for recs 🤍
Just picked up The Dutch House by Ann Patchett - so many older books to catch up on, I'll read new releases and then pick up some older reads....heard great things, will keep everyone posted.

The last book I read was Koontz's Hideaway (reviewed under 'My Books') and I've just started Kellerman's A Cold Heart. Koontz is such a good writer that I've been spoiled, hence my 3/5 star review. I'm a sucker for Milo in Kellerman's Alex Delaware books, but this one seems heavily focused on Petra, who was my one nit with Billy Straight: the story's POV wasn't limited to the titular Billy; it was Petra's story, too. I wanted more Billy, less Petra, but it is what is is. Poo.So, one possibly unfair strike against A Cold Heart, but it's early yet. We'll see how it all pans out.
Just finished reading All the King’s Men by Robert Penn Warren and posted a review. Presently, I am doing what I have not done for a very long time- avidly perusing two memoirs in tandem:Spare( Prince Harry) and Open(Andre Agassi). The interesting thing is that both were written by the same ghostwriter with a gorgeous style of writing.
