Going totally off what I usually read and started in on Keep Sharp: Build a Better Brain at Any Age so far it's been interesting and fortunately for me, I'm not far off his recommendations for a healthy brain.
I've read two books so far this month and working on a third. 1) 'Growing Old' by Elizabeth Marshall Thomas. I really enjoyed it. She's honest about aging. Some parts sad, some parts funny, just like life itself.
2)' Greenlights' by Mathew McConaughey. I've read some pretty harsh reviews on here about Mathew's memoir but I really enjoyed it. I like his quirkiness and the greenlight, redlight, yellowlight (gut feeling) way he looks at life. I hope he continues to write.
3) Currently reading 'Know My Name' by Chantel Miller. Very well written memoir of her attack on a college campus. She's a brave young woman who was willing to go after her assailant with past and future victims of sexual assault in mind. She had a rare opportunity with two witnesses and felt she had to pursue justice. Unfortunately this story is the perfect example of how race and wealth affects sentencing.
I just finished The Selkie Scandal (4/5); a fun novella from the series The Lady Diviner by Rosalie Oaks-Check out my review https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5..."
Finished Religion and the Decline of Magic: Studies in Popular Beliefs in Sixteenth and Seventeenth Century England and reviewed it - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3811235215
I am on my quest for reviewing indie authors. Currently reading A Sword of Greed and Envy: A Nokturn Rising Novel, next will be The Stash
I just finished Immortality: This Is Probably a Novel. I thought it was awesome and gave it 5 stars.
I read a translation of The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. Set in Stalinist Soviet Union, it combines magical realism with scathing political satire and social commentary. It was absolutely hilarious and thoroughly brilliant. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished “Love Your Enemies” by Arthur C. Brooks. I wish every American would read it. He breaks down the ways in which we have become a divided country and how the media and our own behavioral responses have bred a culture of contempt. He concludes with a list of things we can all do to improve.

Thanks
I just finished "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. Don't know why I haven't read this one a long time ago. Classic historical fiction. Great Read!
Just started Overdue by Amity Reed, it's a non fiction, biography about being an NHS midwife. Published by Pinter & Martin, released autumn last year.I also have Dark Lullaby by Polly Ho-yen, a sci-fi, dystopian read to start. Published by Titan books.
And an arc of Expose, Beyond The Thaw, The Thaw Chronicles by Tamar Sloan & Heidi Catherine (self published/indie authors) to read too.
Read two rather different books and reviewed them:Carmen Varricchio's Doll Junk: Collectible and Crazy Fashions from the '70s and '80s - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3842073524
Lucy Worsley's A Very British Murder - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/3764508621
I just finished reading Splintered Stars by Rachel Madbury. It was OK; I am not a big fan of her writing style; and the book was a cliffhanger
PATH OF TREASURESStreeter’s Gang: What a treasure! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Streeter’s Gang: The Beginning
And what a beginning it was. Gail Meath is a gifted story teller. Path of Treasures is an historical fiction set around the Erie Canal during the 1850s. A few pages in and you immediately cannot put it down. The main characters are endearing, you will love the strong bond they share. The plot has unexpected twits, lots of mystery, action, funny moments as well as very tender ones.
A good story teller is when it is so believable. Gail Meath does not disappoint. And her research and her knowledge of the era brightly shine. Now I am waiting for Streeter’s Gang: « The Next Chapter ».
I read The Wedding of Zein by Tayeb Salih, translated from the Arabic by Denys Johnson-Davies.A delightful novella about life in a Sudanese village and the village idiot who turns out not to be such an idiot, after all.

Just finished The Lost World by Michael Crichton and started The Girl Who Circumnavigated....https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9...
Just finished A lady's formula for love by Elizabeth Everett. Really enjoyed! My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Forever with Me: A MemoirHere is my review! So worth reading:
Deserves more than just five stars!
From time to time I have the privilege of reading a book so perfect, so gripping that a five stars review is not enough! Forever with me A memoir is that type of book. Susan Hutchinson’s book is her journey, her life on paper of the terrible lost of her two daughters, her marriage, her life, being a mother...It is real life. It’s trying, no, it’s having the way to continue living after the ripping, not once, but twice of ones heart, ones life.
I feel a great respect for the author, such a strong will to continue, to live... Her journey will bring tremendous help to others who are facing such tragedies.
The author is a gifted one and I hope she continues writing.
My non fiction read is Overdue by Amity Reed, which I am finding quite interesting, an insider's look at maternity care in the NHS. My fiction read is Queen of the Lycan, bk 1 in the Mackenzie Grey The Crown series by Karina Espinosa.......what can I say.....I adore the Mackenzie Grey Universe.
I read The People in the Photo by Hélène Gestern, translated from the French Emily Boyce and Ros Schwartz. An old photograph triggers a search for a long lost parent. A poignant story about the role of memory in identity formation.

I am currently 79% into Queen of the Lycans (Mackenzie Grey:The Crown) by Karina Espinosa & its amaaaazing!
I am reading Becoming by Michelle Obama. I'm also reading about women journalists, and have just finished The Dark Side of Alice in Wonderland.
Rebel Daughter by Lori Kaufmann. Highly recommended for anyone who loves 1st Century historical fiction! Excellent prose and meticulously researched content.
The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson. Not a murder mystery but rather a murder story. You find yourself rooting for the villain. Swanson writes in the first person. But every chapter is a different "first person" version of events. Gave it four stars.
I'm reading The Satanic Verses (Salman Rushdie). It was subject of controversy when it was published. For now i'm not very exciting to read on.
Just finished The witch in the White City (Nick Wisseman) and The rake is taken (Tracy Summers). Currently reading Someone to romance by Mary Balogh
