Since my last update, I finished both My Boney Girl and The Enchanted April. Then I read Mallory and the Trouble With Twins, Body Switches, Today People, The Remedy, The Lucky Leprechaun, and The Broken God.Now I'm reading Star Minds Chasing Stardom.
Just read the massive reference tome on the Salem witchcraft persecutions - The Salem Witch Trials: A Day-by-day Chronicle of a Community under Seige.
I finished Star Minds Chasing Stardom. Then I read The Necromouser, Shreddy and the Zomb-dogs, and Star Minds Interregnum. Now I'm reading Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two (which I'm already almost half way through).
I finished Antigone by Jean Anouilh, which I enjoyed very much; 4 stars. My ReviewCurrently reading The Confessions of Catherine de Medici. The time frame of this novel follows closely that of Blood & Beauty: The Borgias, so it gives me a sense of continuity.
I am reading Magic Shifts which turns out to be book 8 in the series not book 1 that I thought it was because I was looking at the list backwards. So far it has been good and there has been only one place where I was lost because I hadn't read the earlier books and that got fixed shortly thereafter.
Recently finished reading
by Karin Slaughter, another 4-Star adventure.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finished For 100 Days by Lara Adrian. I have loved her Midnight Breeds Series, so I tried this. I really liked it. I am waiting impatiently for the other two books in this trilogy.
Completed my review of Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller, a Must Read!https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Jane wrote: "Just re read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. It's just one of those things I do periodically.
"Good call... Awesome book!

I just finished writing my new book absolute reality about my experience with God for three days in another reality. check out my profile for a link to my first two chapters!
Finished An Unsafe Haven
by Nada Awar Jarrar, set in contemporary Beirut. Four stars. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
It's a light easy read about a game warden's involvement in a murder investigation. Takes place in the Texas Hill Country and does a good job giving you a feel for the personalities that call that area home, like I do.
Finished a re-read of the first 2 Amber books by Richard Zelazny - Nine Princes in Amber
and The Guns of Avalon
.
Better late than never, I guess. Just read Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park for the first time and found it an entertaining read, despite knowing the story from the film. The upcoming HBO series, Westworld, triggered my renewed interest in Crichton, reminding me that years ago I had viewed and enjoyed the original Westworld movie, made in 1973, written and directed by Crichton. Currently, I am reading Enemy of God, the second book of Bernard Cornwell’s marvelous three-book series, The Warlord Chronicles, a unique re-imagining of the King Arthur legend. I had read the first book in the series, The Winter King, several years ago and for some reason had never finished the series. Well, as I said, better late than never.
I just finished Finders Keepers and am currently reading:Anne Rice - Cry to Heaven
L. Ron Hubbard - Writers of the Future Vol. 5
Just starting the audio book Drunken Fireworks (which I listen to while on my exercise bike)
Also reading on my pc kindle The Bizaar of Bad Dreams
I will be starting the End of Watch sometime this weekend.
Happy Reading!!!!
Finally read Room by Emma Donoghue and felt it deserved more than one star: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Just starting
Since my last update (message #568), I finished reading The Confessions of Catherine de Medici. My Review.I've also read Hypatia of Alexandria, which is a non-fiction account of the life and times of Hypatia, the 4th century female scholar and philosopher who was brutally murdered by a mob. It was the movie "Agora" that spurred me to read about her.
My Review
Susan wrote: "Wow Victoria! You are amazing."*Shrugs* I spend a lot of time reading. Plus, as I mentioned in my post, several were really short books.

I've read a novel by Diana Wynne Jones, The Dark Lord of Derkholm.
Just finished Total Chaos
by Jean-Claude Izzo, a crime-noir set in Marseilles. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I just finally read The Secret Life of Bees, which I thought was pretty well written. It didn't quite live up to the hype, but that's always a high standard. I'm still reading The Golden Yarn by Cornelia Funke, but it's been interrupted by some adult books I needed to read for the World Lit class I'm teaching and for a couple of nonfiction titles. But what I've read so far of The Golden Yarn I have really liked.
I usually read a book a day during my writing breaks, so I just finished 6 since last Saturday. I'm back to writing, so I started on "A Smile in One Eye...a tear in the other" by Ralph Webster a few days ago (a fairly long book). Very good memoir so far, and I have great faith that I will sigh with deep satisfaction by the time I've finished!

I'll keep it on my TBR list to read at some point!
Just finished my first Margaret Atwood novel,
Surfacing. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
