Reading 'The Most of Nora Ephron' because I miss her voice and have not read all of the essays, screenplays, et al in this collection.

Actually, I'm working on my third novel. When I'm done with it, there are many novels that I want to read.
I just finished 'For the Good Times' by David Keenan. The story of three young IRA members with a bizarre love for the songs of Perry Como.
Gritty, at times barbaric, interspersed with hallucinations and humour.
I liked the fast-paced, first-person narrative. I began by enjoying the comic-book superhero interludes; they made for a welcome break from the violence, but by the end, I tired of them.
Certainly worth a read and I can see why it won so many plaudits back in 2019- However, I can't help but feel this was partially due to the subject matter, so far beyond the experience of a largely middle-class readership.
Read The Treatment by Mo Hayder ... really didn't like it - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Read The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman and reviewed - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Still writing my third novel. When I finish it, there is a bookshelf of titles I want to read and discuss. If you're into redemption stories, please consider my latest novel:
