Richard wrote: "Just read my own book Two If By Sea by Rick McCann and I have to say I really enjoyed it! I think it is helpful to reread after much time is passed because things I thought were great turned out to have mistakes.
I bet your book has a great storyline. It sounds interesting.
I am writing a novel myself about a young kid and his struggle to get his driver's license and a car. He grew up in a very poor family and moved from a small town to a big city. The family would not teach him and could not afford a car sometimes even groceries. It is Christian Fiction based on actual events of how God helped him get established in life. The names were changed and the family wanted to remain anonymous.
I have only written the first two chapters so we will see how it goes.
Good luck with your book. I will definitely put it on my shelf.
Only read my own book when editing. Presently reading Tombland by C J Sansom.Has to be historical for me, up to and including WW2
Jan wrote: "Only read my own book when editing."Same here. Just read a historical myself - Mist Over Pendle by Robert Neill, published in 1951 with a different take on a historical event than the usual attitude today but enjoyed it - https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/5746078552
I'm in the middle of writing my new book Cloned Ambition, but I took a break to re-read Pat Rice's Family Genius series, as a pallet cleanser (It's about American politics in or around 911, so it was a complete break from my own dystopian sci-fi). It was as much fun the 3rd or 4th time as it was the first.
Hi there,I've just read The Italian girl by Lucinda Riley. It's a beautiful book, that really takes you to the different places. A compelling read.
I've just started Nice Work (if you can get it) by Celia Imrie. I'm really enjoying this one too. I like stories that take me to different countries and places, so that I can experience and remember all the sights, sounds and aromas.
I read a YA historical fiction with a side of fantasy. It's called, On the Other Side of Night and takes place in the U.K. Great reviews by adults.
Just finished reading the last book of the 5-book Game of Thrones series by Gorge R.R. Martin titled A Dance with Dragons Since it was published in 2011, it is doubtful that the author will publish the final two books of the series as originally intended.I just started reading The Measure by Nikki Erlick, published in 2022.
I’m reading The Grail War by Richard Monaco, an old school, blood and guts fantasy based on the legend of Parsifal (kind of).
The Cartographer's Vault: Book 1
Bloodstained Skies: The Core of Rage
I just read both of these. Both excellent.
There are almost 2,000 with Two If By Sea by Richard McCann on their bookshelf to be read. I hope that you read it soon and leave a review so others will discover a great read!
