This is the chance to redemption :D

I'm going to use this as a chance to revisit them all with the lovely Stephen Fry audio narrations

Oh I do have the illustrated HP1. Maybe I'll read that with my son"
The illustrated ones are soo pretty! (I have just 1-3 so far)
& hah I agree it is a bit weird :P Can't recall how I acquired #4 but I do remember it was when it was just released. So I read it right away when I got it, liked it, then went looking for 1-3 (which I don't recall being as widely available at that time as they are now), bought them as a boxset and then started back at 1 to catch up on what I missed.

I have the illustrated one as well - just got the 3rd one the other day. I understand all of the books are going to be eventually released in this format - one a year each October.
Yes, they are gorgeous Kirsten
Oh, that's good to know Sally! My son is only 5, so maybe if I get him one each year (which coincides with his birthday actually) he can read them *almost* as the same age as the kids in the book

One of them is the Harry Potter 20 Ravenclaw edition by Bloomsbury, I think I'll read that or my Scholastic hardcover edition for TT =)

One of them is..."
yey!!!!
I am saving mine for the challenge too. I love those editions... need to get the last 2 that we are missing though.

Yes! I've been asking for the illustrated editions every year for Christmas... works out nicely. ;)
& just checking my shelves, I apparently have 9 copies of the first book. lol didn't realize it was quite so high. I picked them up as I see them in thrift shops. 8 in English (3 Sorcerer's, 5 Philosopher's), & 1 in French.

Ha, I came clean earlier... I 've never read. But... I picked this one up tonight from my library. I'm in. I'm a little nervous; I'm going to be a little disappointed if I don't love it.

There’s a thread for each book :)
So this thread is just for book one
For those reading for Tower Teams points then you need to start the book after TT starts

Lol I definitely could.

We are planning to buy the 20 year edition Hufflepuff and Slytherin, and the illustrated one. And eventually my 5 y.o. niece will need a new complete set in Portuguese *grins*
I wanted to get her the illustrated, but that implies getting it in Portuguese... and I wanted the english one to myself... decisions...decisions....

Was anyone else in the readhp group on Livejournal that did a huge re-read right before the last one came out? #goodolddays lol

it's 11 years since the last one came out hahah
Team Gilderoy Lockhart here =) I'm in too

@Paula you just comment here on this thread

I've read the first and second HP at least 10 times, I know lots of parts by heart (in spanish of course haha)
The others at least 4 times each

Lots of us here to buddy read this book together. Paula, once the challenge starts in your time zone you can read this book at your pace and come back here and chat with everyone about the book. Please use spoilers as some of us haven't read the book and are looking forward to the HP magic !
Here is a current buddy read thread if you want to take a peek to see how others participate.

I'm itching to start as well; but more points for my team if I wait:-)

I would love to listen to the audiobook for this re-read but I am doubtful if it'll happen. I requested them through my local library and somewhere between #14 & #24 for all of them. So the wait is going to be long!
