I purposely did not link a specific edition. Given the page lengths, I think some contain different material. I note the default description indicates it is a work of 4 volumes, the first 3 published considerably earlier than the 4th part.
And Quiet Flows the Don has just 569 pages. It is the edition available to me and my library's catalog says it is the first part of the work. I don't know if that means Volumes 1-3 or not. There are other editions which have considerably more than 1000 pages. I think those are the complete work.
