History Repeating Itself

T.R. was a contemporary of Samuel Clemens. Clemens purportedly said: "History does not repeat itself but it Rhymes."

So, what do you think, does history rhyme or repeat itself? What are the implications for the human race if in fact history rhymes? repeats itself?

Oh, I think history definitely repeats itself. That's one reason I enjoy reading it - seeing how actions or events in the past correlate with today. People keep making the same mistakes over and over again - while still managing to find new ones to make. And of course, they sometimes get it right, and that's a joy to read about.
