Zara, Janes in Love is listed as a 'comic'. Comics are not allowed for this challenge. Please double check for future books that it meets the criteria :)

Longer books...more points! No need to feel bad about that ;)

I figured out the name of the book...but who on what team read this to qualify for Sin Bingo??
*Nevermind...I corrected...Donna on Team Acedia read on 5/31/19

Yikes! I did it again. I'm sorry, I'll get better 😞

No worries...it's our 1st week...

How are we doing? Need to change anything?
On our Working SS, you'll see I added a tab for all of the SIN BINGO's recorded this week from other teams...I hope you find this helpful.
We are in 2nd place for the VANITY prize...just 1 pt behind team Pride. This prize is for the team that reads the most books in their category...for us that's Green OR YA OR Reading a book from 'another team' who read in 2019!
We're at roughly the middle of the pack for most other categories.
I hope everyone is enjoying the challenge so far...a big shout out to Nikk for doing most of the SS work...she put together our working SS and has been doing most of the tracking. WooHoo Nikk!
This week we have BOM started that fits our category and qualifies for SIN BINGO. If you like the YA genre, consider reading this if you can get it. BOM makes a huge difference in this challenge.
Thank you all for recording on the SS...this saves us a ton of time!
Happy reading everyone!

Hey Ambi...thanks for checking in again...could you please add your Trick or Treat book to your TT shelf? Thanks much :)

Thank you Nikki & Tammie! I'll pick up the BOM next.

I answered DQs for day one for Gideon the Ninth this morning.

You don't have to answer the DQs necessarily, but you do need to show up in the DQ thread discussion at least 3 times. I usually answer the DQs because it's just easier than worry about the other...but at least 3 comments please.

I just searched the threads...no one has mentioned for 2019...I found a couple that read prior year. If you want, you can start a trend and read it so everyone else can count it :)

I had a look as well and I didn't find anyone who's a part of TT who has read it :(

...patience my little grasshopper...someone might do the honors and put you out of your misery...

Happy reading!

Hey team, just want your input for this cover. Is it Purple enough?"
According to tin eye it is more blue (33.8%) than purple.

It has recipes at the end of the essays. If that's a problem, I can take it off the shelf.

Can’t use it for it blue either right? Cause it’s less than 50%?

Sorry...yes pls remove. It’s mpg recipes...we would be penalized if it was questioned.

Hey team, just want your input for this cover. Is it Purple enough?"
The question is this book mostly purple.
Let’s get this process down for future. It needs to scream the color...be more than 50%. Tineye has been ruled out as the method for deciding colors. It’s an inconsistent tool.
What do you think? Let’s have at lease one other person besides me rule on this please...so far we have one ‘no’. 2 out of 3 and that’s decided...

At this point no one else has weighed in. It definitely looks purple...but I believe it's not 'mostly' purple...1/3 gray and then other colors make it not quite 50 %... yes, if this is something you would love to read...just code it as YA if that's the genre...that works!

Audio, don’t watch tv, semi retired, empty nest, no grand children-yet...for my busy years I read maybe a book a year...I’m in awe of those who balance work, children and home and still make time to read!
Everyone’s books matter! Thank you all for being on our team!

It’s no bother...keep asking if you aren’t sure...I just don’t need to be the only person to say...everyone has an opinion...happy reading!

WEEK 3 !!!

Sloth is laziness and the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
The most commonly known sloth is... the sloth. Venturing into the animal kingdom with this brilliant statement (ha.ha), your task for this week 3 is a rather easy one.
Your team is on an animal scavenger hunt!
Find as many animals as you can either on the cover, in the title or in the text of the books you are reading. The reference to the animal within the text of the book needs to be to the actual animal and not an expression such as "lazy like a sloth", for example.
◈ Only books finished between 21th and 28th October will count for the Sloth mini challenge (i.e. books finished in week 3).
◈ Books will either count towards the main part of the challenge (the Seven Deadly Sins) or towards this mini challenge.
◈ One animal per book. (In other words: a book can only be used once for either cover, title or text.)
◈ The same animal can only be found up to a maximum of 7 times.
◈ You will gain 7 points for the first time you find a tricky animal, and 5 points for the first time you find an easy animal.
◈You will gain 1 point for each subsequent find of the same animal (easy or tricky), to a maximum of 7 finds of that animal.
i.e. if you find sloth (an easy animal) 7 times, in 7 different books you will gain 5 + 6*1 points
You can create collections of 7 unique animals (tricky or easy, you can't mix & match)
◈ for each collection of 7 unique easy animals found you will get 10 bonus points
◈ for each collection of 7 tricky animals found you will get 20 bonus points
◈ multiple collections are possible, but there can be no overlap (i.e. if you claim two collections of easy animals you can't have the same animal in each collection)
Report collections in your weekly check-in, listing the animals in each collection

Also, I'm currently in tech week for a show and I think I'm going to end up one book short for my weekly goal - sorry about that! But if anyone can and wants to pick up the extra, I just wanted to put that out there.

If every book we read could be for the mini, that would be great...but it isn't required!
The rules are pretty straight forward, but if you have questions, please ask!
I'll post a few examples here in a minute...the captains have had a couple of days to hash out a few things which will be helpful.

Does this mean we have to read extra or will one book be able to count for both?

Does this mean we have to read extra or will one book be able to count for ..."
The book will count for either...and no, we don't need to read extra

I don't want to make this complicated...if we can read for 'different' animals vs overlapping, there is an advantage of points. That being said, I hate for us to not read what we want...so if this strategy doesn't work for you, no worries.
Longer books are still desirable...I personally have a problem reading longer books when I'm working a lot...you'll notice I've not done a whole lot of those. Again, whatever works for you.

- the actual animal must be referred to and not part/characteristic of the animal
-representations of the animal do not count (stuffed animal, statue, etc)
-Metaphors involving the animal do not count (as stated by the mods in the rules)
Some examples:
- If someone has a taxidermy deer in their house, it's a deer. (counts)
-If two characters are having coffee and one of them is talking about the eagle the rehabbed at the bird sanctuary last week, it's an eagle. (counts)
-If someone has a crocodile purse, it's a purse. (does not count)
- If someone has a dalmatian fur coat, it's a coat not a dog.(does not count)
- If someone randomly exclaims that they wish they were a wolf, they're... still not actually a wolf. (does not count)
When you post your book for 'word in text' PLEASE!!!
1) post the sentence
2) post the location of the sentence ie pg 1 or if audio the chapter and note it's audio
