Louise,In your post at the start where you've listed examples for sin bingo, why is there A Clash of Kings? I don't see it tagged as dystopia (that one is currently on pg 6 of tags). Am I missing some captains' decision?
I mean, I don't mind. I even might pick it up, especially if it would work for bingo :)
Sorry team, I didn't get to finish another book :(I had guests and didn't have time for reading...
Two questions
1. Do mini challenge books count in our team total books? Meaning, does the limit apply to those too? If I read let's say 5 books for mini, have I reached my weekly limit?
2. Do we have some animal expert? Is this
an antilope or something in the background? I am afraid my zoology knowledge is lacking outside the usual animals

Good spot Tea, I scoured the s/sheets last week for Sin Bingo’s across the Teams. Team lust Claimed it in week one and had discussed it in their thread. I’ll remove this from the post

Yes mini challenge books do count towards our limit. And that is an antelope in the background.

*sigh* And I hoped I found good reason to finally pick it up. :P
Thanks for info. :)
btw, my 'honeybee' book also has quoll and bandicoot so far. I'm not even keeping track of easy animals (I remember wombat was mentioned. and Tasmanian devil). So if someone finds honeybee, my book can be used somewhere else
❀Tea❀ wrote: "Louise, are you feeling better?"Much better thank you. I’ve had plenty of rest and “Lempsip”, at least when I’m back in work tomorrow I should get through the day without sneezing!

Should I read it then? It is not a tricky animal, but I mostly have "easy" animal books :(
At the moment, the only cover animal I have is a wolf. And the only title I have is hawk which isn't on the list, sadly. I'll have to go digging for text. Oi, that feels like a massive undertaking! I have a book set in Alaska and one in South American jungle, hopefully those will produce some interesting animals.
I have a clarification question! I know the rules say...The reference to the animal within the text of the book needs to be to the actual animal and not an expression such as "lazy like a sloth", for example.
By actual animal, does that mean that the actual living animal has to appear? Or if it's, say, a helmet that contains a family crest that has a lion in it, does that count? It depicts the actual animal, but I'm not sure the semantics here. (I am likely overthinking it!)
I plan to read The Monkey's Raincoat this week for the mini-challenge.I saw someone post about a limit. I signed up for 1 book per week, does that mean I can only contribute 1 book per week, or if I read more do they all count?

The limit is for the team, if you can complete more feel free. LaurLa and I will let you know if we need you to stop reading until the rollover

“"Find as many animals as you can either on the cover, in the title or in the text of the books you are reading. The reference to the animal within the text of the book needs to be to the actual animal and not an expression such as ""lazy like a sloth"", for example. The animal can be real or imaginary (e.g. a teddy bear, picture of a moose)"
Maddy wrote: "I can do - bunny, wolf, bear, selkie, jaguar, leopard, antelope, fox, elephant, bengal tiger, owl"Bunny - needs to be rabbit
Selfie - not in the list
Bengal tiger - I’ll take this as tiger 😊
When posting your books this week can you add as many of the animals that it works for as possible, that way we can move things around as needed.
Guidelines agreed by the CaptainsFor word in text:
- the actual animal must be referred to and not part/characteristic of the animal
- representations of the animal do not count (stuffed animal, statue, etc)
- metaphors involving the animal do not count (as stated by the mods in the rules)
Some examples:
- If someone has a taxidermy deer in their house, it's a deer. (counts)
- If two characters are having coffee and one of them is talking about the eagle the rehabbed at the bird sanctuary last week, it's an eagle. (counts)
- If someone has a crocodile purse, it's a purse. (does not count)
- If someone has a dalmatian fur coat, it's a coat not a dog. (does not count)
- If someone randomly exclaims that they wish they were a wolf, they're... still not actually a wolf. (does not count)
I started reading
and i'll prob finish it tomorrow, I could count it for a pink cover??? it mentions turtles and i thought that would be an animal on the list but sadly!! it's not :c
Gareless wrote: "I started reading

Gareless wrote: "I started reading

Reminder - please include sentence and location for the animals you find in the textIf you are listing more than a 3 or 4 words, just include the sentence for any that are tricky or the first one or two easy. We'll come back to you if we need one further down your list.
Maddy & Chris, can you update your posts from yesterday?Maddy - Need location/pg number and sentence
Chris - add sentence
FYI - I will definitely have 3 more sloth books - antilope, tiger and rabbit. Not sure if I will manage more, but these 3 definitely :)
LaurLa wrote: "Can I have a consesus on whether this is blue enough for cover color?
"Mostly grey on this one.
LaurLa wrote: "Can I have a consesus on whether this is blue enough for cover color?

Is the deadline still Monday? How far are we in regards to the limit? Can I read more or should I slow down?
Maddy wrote: "Is the deadline still Monday? How far are we in regards to the limit? Can I read more or should I slow down?"
I’ll do an update in a few hours
We have just over a day left until the end of Week 3 and have completed 38 books. 6 more books is our maximum for the week. Please let us know if you are likely to finish before deadline so we can ensure we don’t go over our limit. We have a new mini challenge for next week Wrath
I’ll get a breakdown up shortly.
Louise wrote: "All yours Maddy, I’ve got about 30pgs left of Save the Date which I can hold off if needed."Oh, I was planning to finish that one too :)
