Have you checked the spreadsheet tab marked Wrath Challenges under our spreadsheet, that is separated and easier to view.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

message 553: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Reads (minxreadsalot) | 2485 comments Another thing about the Wrath MC is that we can only read for each task once, so if you have a book that fits please claim the task using the drop down.

why aren't the tasks in order though? 🙈 like I get the MPG ones being separate from the general ones, but why are the numbers all over the place? xD

To make it easier to read and to separate the tasks into basic and ones that needed a MPG, was trying to make it easier for those who just wanted to look at tasks that could apply to any genre and those who wanted to read Mystery, Thriller, or Suspense.

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments 57. Read a book containing the phrase "see red" - I would assume 'saw red' works as well... does it? if yes, I'll claim it with Save The Date :)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments dang it, going through the tasks again I also want to start a Suspense or Thriller now 😅

Yes, that is perfect. It is helpful to already have the information in one place to be copied and pasted for when we have to move the books and all the info to the official spreadsheet. Thank you so much!

Mamacita aka MawMaw (mamawantsbedtimestory) | 441 comments On the Wrath mini challenge part of the spreadsheet I claimed Task #13 MPG Crime, Mystery, Thriller or Suspense that also meets the criteria for "FBI/CIA/ATF"

I can change books to task #133 MPG Crime, Mystery, Thriller or Suspense that also meets the criteria for "Romantic Suspense" if it hasn't been claimed & someone else needs my task.

I also could have swore there was one with military but can't find if now.

No, there was never one with military. I checked the master sheet to a make sure.

Just make sure that the book you claimed meets the criteria that is on the right side of the task you claimed :D

since this ended up happening I'm feeling kinda stressed now lol so I'll probably start The Chestnut Man early and only finish Save The Date and hopefully also the audiobook of The Darkest Minds. fingers crossed!

Don’t stress out lovey. Just focus on reading what you can. 💕💕💕

message 571: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Hi Minx, I finished reading a book but instead of reserving a task in Wrath mini-challenge list, I just wrote a list of all the tasks that fit her. I hope that is ok.

message 572: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Reads (minxreadsalot) | 2485 comments @dragana thanks for the info, that’s fine. 😀

Melissa Reads (minxreadsalot) | 2485 comments This week’s mini-challenge is a 2 parter. You can check out the details here:

LUST Mini-Challenge

I think this week’s challenge could be fun AND if any of you on this time like the idea of making a story with the prompts that we use, I am cool with that.

I’d like it if we could fill out 1 set of prompts and 1 story. We could do more if we want but I think one is fine.

Also, with the part 2 portion, if there is a book on the bad books listing that you want to read have at it because in addition to the page points we also get 5 points per book BUT I don’t think part 2 is something that should be mandatory as a team. So if you want to read from that listing feel free but no judgments if you don’t.

message 574: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (itsmedaisy) | 279 comments This challenge looks fun!! I had to read it about 100 times to understand it but I think I finally get it. I'll start looking for stuff to fit the prompts

message 575: by Kinga (new)

Kinga Finished 3rd book. On Beauty by Zadie Smith. I read it in Hungarian. It was a 'Bingo'. Read it for Vanity. Cover: purple; Genre: contemporary, and it won numerous awards. I recorded it in the Excel (?) file.

I missed recording my first book due to family obligations. I am reading on and if I can record those I am going to read I will.

message 576: by Maritza (new)

Maritza (spanishwhispers) | 2241 comments Just saw this over on chat. If anyone has kindle to lend me I will gladly read it for the points.

sooooooo..... Lust week.....

Two things:
1) I will give mod points to anyone (apart from Jenny & myself) who reads Interstellar super explorer: star explorer and can explain what is going on! The #of points will NOT be worth the mental pain you suffer during the reading: #fairwarning

2) Anyone fancy doing a buddy read of Fifty Shades of Mr Darcy: A Parody? It's on KU UK & Scribd (thanks Jessi). If you are, shout up & I'll get a backroom BR thread set up... (ETA: to be clear there'll be mod points for participants during Week 5)

PS if any fool does read Interstellar Super Explorer & wants points, you'll have to get captain to report it when they check in at the end of Week 5. The offer is only good for completion during Week 5, not during the extended period of Part 2.

message 577: by Maritza (new)

Maritza (spanishwhispers) | 2241 comments I'm up for the challenge Minx. As I have not been reading long books I don't mind contributing to the mini challenges. So for story I will save my current read for next week The Light in the Hallway and will look for book on bad list.

I do not have a copy of this book, lol, but I am curious what it is all about.

message 581: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Reads (minxreadsalot) | 2485 comments We will have a tab made up on the spreadsheet for the Lust Mini-challenge where we can put down our ideas and see what we can create.

In the meantime here are the prompts to consider:

Adjective for man:
Man's name / role:
Adjective for woman:
Woman's name / role:
Where they met:
What they went there for:
What he wore:
What she wore:
What he said to her:
What she said to him:
The consequence (a description of what happened after):
What the world said:

Ashley (itsmedaisy) | 279 comments I'm going to read Quintana of Charyn (Lumatere Chronicles, #3) by Melina Marchetta next week, I feel like that fits for a few of those, I can find some others too depending on whatever we are missing

message 584: by Christina (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments Is it just me or does Part One of the Lust mini not really give us that many points? 🤔 EXCEPT of we combine Part One AND Part Two

[◈ If you read a Bad Book recommendation between 4th and 11th November (i.e. during week 5) you can use it in Part One as well as Part Two]

message 585: by Christina (last edited Nov 01, 2019 06:51PM) (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments question - for part two, do we need to read the exact same book that has been nominated or would another book of the same series work? ok scratch that, I don't think that works.

message 586: by Shelby (last edited Nov 01, 2019 07:57PM) (new)

Shelby (stang_lee) | 1980 comments So just an update - we are sitting at 28 completed books at the moment. It's soon to be 30 as I have two to turn in myself, but I'll post those late tonight as I'm meeting a friend for drinks.

I'll have a version of the spreadsheet for the Lust mini to play with either later tonight or tomorrow as well. :)

So if we read one from the bad books list we can get points for it from both places? I can read [bookcover:There's Someone Inside Your House|15797848] from the bad list, it could be what one of them said to each other? Scratch that, I can't get that one from any of my libraries in time and I don't want to pay for a bad book. But I can definitely find one if we get both points

lol, I pay for a wouldn't "bad" book either :D. Yes, for Part 2 we get the page points, plus 2 points, and 5 points per every bad book that is read BUT That is only during week 5. After week 5 is will be for page points and 5 points.

Very true, some of my favorite books are actually in that thread! The one I was looking at I'm pretty sure was honestly bad though

message 595: by Christina (new)

Christina (chrissy__) | 3010 comments for anyone still planing to read Gideon the Ninth , there are only a couple more days to finish and participate in BOM discussion in order to get BOM points! deadline is November 7th.

Melissa Reads (minxreadsalot) | 2485 comments Thanks for the reminder, Christina 😀

message 597: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Reads (minxreadsalot) | 2485 comments Ok Teamies, 2 new tabs have been added to the spreadsheet. They are labeled as LUST Mini PART 1 and LUST Mini PART 2.

I split them up because part 2 lasts much longer and after this week we can move the PART 1 to the end.

When adding the books to the spreadsheet for lust please add either of these details under the justification column:

example for Part 1:

Story 1/ Adjective for person #One (or whatever prompt you chose)

example for Part 2:

Recommended by Tea (The rest of the criteria we need would already have been imputed)

With the PART 2 SS I have 2 links in ROW 2, one is for the books listing itself BUT you can't click on the voted link because that was by who added it to the list. You have to actually go to the bad books thread and find who actually recommended the book. I included that link to help you as well.

message 598: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Reads (minxreadsalot) | 2485 comments Jan, you have 2 versions of The Graveyard Book on your Towers shelf and it seems you rated the paperback version BUT its actually the hardcover version that you rated on Goodreads.

Can you update your versions to make the one you read as soon as possible or we can't use it? Thanks!

message 599: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Reads (minxreadsalot) | 2485 comments We are at our 5 hour mark for the end of week 4 and beginning of week 5.

If you have some books planned to read can you find a spot that they might work for the upcoming Lust mini challenge?

Jan, can you please see message #598?

In the meantime if you have a book you are finishing, please have it done in the next 4 hours to give us time to check it and get it entered. Thank you. 😊
