Don't forget to stop by the Bad Books Recommendations thread and leave your recs! I'm sure you all have at least one book on your read list that you absolutely loathed :-)

Week 1 - possibly Gideon the Ninth (BOM)
Week 2 - Wilder Girls(BOM) - works for Envy (Sin Bingo? since it's a BOM a lot of members are going to read it and we are still in 2019 =D )
Save the Date - Back Room BOM
Avarice
Gluttony
Lust - A Kiss of Shadows - red cover, guilty pleasures, steamy
Sloth
Vanity
Wrath

It's a good start! :-D
And yes, Wilder Girls will work for Sin Bingo as someone somewhere on a team has already read it in July, so everyone else is now good to go for the BOM. (I just can't remember the name of the person at the moment - maybe Melinda does? Otherwise we'll just go hunt it down again.)

Still trying to figure out what my first book will be...Decisions, decisions!
I'm sure that in the meantime you've all seen the mod announcement with the countdown and the warning to check your own time zones.
As a reminder, the challenge starts at 7am on the 7th October, Sydney Australia (AEDST).
And for those of you who haven't considered the Australia part in that announcement, the start of the challenge is late afternoon/evening on Sunday for most of the rest of the world. ;-)
Here is the COUNTDOWN .
Please keep an eye on it to make sure you start at the correct time! You can check time zones here.

Dear Ladies of the Blue Sloth!
UPDATE 1
Please don't forget the important rule of over/underachieving to consider before the start. We already discussed this briefly.
Our weekly number of books is 38 (for all teams) calculated according to the number of the books we committed to read/week.
As you can see from the calculation below, in order not to get penalised the minimum number of books we should read is 30 / the maximum is 45.
Accuracy points - %age per week Books read
<80% -20 <30
80-120% 50 30-45
>120% -100 >45
>250% -200 >95
Of course, real life can get in the way of our challenge, so please let us know if you feel you cannot keep to your weekly portion of reading. We are a Team, so we can grab an extra book here and there if needed.
UPDATE 2
Once you finished a book, apart from putting it to your TTVII shelves, please report it to this thread (we will not have a different thread for book read).
Please make sure you list all these info:
Book:
Date Read:
Pages:
Sin:
Criteria:
Justification:
Alternate:
Sin Bingo: Y/N
BOM: Y/N

Alysa H. has read it in 2019, I can't remember which team she's from.
See? I knew you'd remember who read Wilder Girls ;-)
Dark Lover is not a bad introduction into the series but definitely not my favourite main characters. I didn't particularly like Wrath and it took me a few years before I got back into the series, but once I did, I devoured book two and book three. I read each of those almost in one sitting and that is rare for me, especially with ~450 page books.
I'm going to start with
(which I was supposed to start for a BR on the 3rd.. oops). And then..... I'm not sure yet. One of my door stoppers for sure but I just cannot decide which one. I might just take some time tomorrow afternoon and sit down with all of them and read a page or two in each to see which one strikes my fancy.

Since I'm scheduled for 0.75 (haha) books a week, I'll probably post a book each week that I'm planning on reading, just rounding up.
I'm hoping to read Illuminae next week. I'll try and see if it fits any sin bingos right now. :)
EDIT: I think it only fits top shelf, so it'll get an extra 3 points.

I've been itching to read Victor Hugo's Les Miserables and I figured I would save it for this challenge to cash out on the points! I'll need to crack down to get it done in a week but I'm scheduled to work at slow locations so I should get it done!
Week 2 I'll be reading

Thank you for that awesome link, Stacie! The Sloth list had a ton of books I've been interested in! :)

Wondering if I'm old & wise enough for Victor Hugo. I read his "Notre Dame" when I was 17 and hated it (hmmm, maybe I should've added it to my bad books recommendations) even though I like classic books in general.
Maybe I would appreciate him more. I also disliked Dickens on first reads, but I came to love a few of his books with.... ahem.. age. :D
Les Mis in just a week? That is quite an endeavour!
If you do go for it, we have a buddy read going where we're reading the book over the course of the year. (I'm of course lagging behind haha.) so you could jump in and share some thoughts if you wanted to. :-)
@Melinda, you like Dickens? *gasp*

I might discover that Hugo is not that insufferable as thought him before. ;)
Hugo is very wordy... like very. And he loves his tangents. But Les Mis is actually a pretty good book - once you manage to look past the extras, the story is quite cool!
Dickens is ruined for me after I disliked Hard Times and A Christmas Carol. So I'm not going to touch him again, I think.

And

I don’t know that I will get sin bingo with the books on my TBR list but I can at least try to get the most points as possible.

Get those page number points.
I completely forgot to consider the fact that I will be travelling from Thursday to Sunday, so I may actually have to go for a second shorter book or find a big one without the teensy tiny writing haha.

Oooh! Tell me more about this signing :-)
I love getting my books signed, and it's especially a treat here because we so rarely get famous authors. I did meet Scott Lynch earlier this year though and that was quite cool.

I am trying to read/reread All of Stephen King’s Books. It’s been slow. This is the perfect challenge to knock out the big ones!

That sounds cool!
Book Bonanza always catches my eye as well but I REALLY could not justify the expense... Rare would in theory be more doable since it's often nearer here but I'm not much of a romance reader anymore.
Didn't V go to Rare in London last month?

I really enjoyed that series Joy, I hope you do too! I had started on audio, then went to a real book because of the art :)
