Team Sloth

I had to take a trip to the Apple store so I started The Golden Compass audiobook while I was waiting. I'll work on finishing that first before I dig into the BOM.

5. Ostrich & Hyena: “Madness is an ostrich who sticks their head in the sand while a pack of hyenas closes in around.” Page 178

Glad to hear you're on the mend. Take it easy!

A Miracle of Catfish - 455 pgs
Life is a Circus Run by a Platypus - 143 pgs
Firefighter Sea Dragon - 300 pgs
Backstroking with a Tiger Shark - 104 pgs
I know the page numbers are little for two books but figured it would help boost our numbers for the tricky animals and they'll be quick reads.

◈You will gain 1 point for each subsequent find of the same animal (easy or tricky), to a maximum of 7 finds of that animal.
So does that mean if we find the same animal again, we only get 1 point instead of another 7? Not that it matters now because Snowtulip changed her book (thanks!) but just wanted to know :) I always confuse myself with the rules.
And then there is a bonus!
◈ for each collection of 7 tricky animals found you will get 20 bonus points
Yes, that is exactly what it means. :-)
7 points the first time round for tricky animals, and only 1 point for every other time we find the same animal.

Hey Jenny!
Glad to hear you're on the mend! I was beginning to wonder if it was something even worse that had you down but it's good to hear that you're back home and can get some proper rest now (hospitals just don't seem to provide that).
Take it easy, get well soon and read as you like. :-)
Don't worry, we aren't going to replace you. The team can balance out whatever you don't manage to read (and Nicole's been on a crazy reading fest anyway hehe).

Can you hold off on the shorter ones for now please? And maybe read something fat instead? (That you could finish next week if necessary?)
We're getting dangerously close to our weekly limit already and we haven't heard back from everyone yet about finishing books as there's not quite 2 days left and weekends are great for quality reading time.
Just so that the others can get their weekly book in as well if they manage :-)
Thank you!

Ok. I'll finish the Robert Langdon series with Origin - 482 pgs and it has blue whale in the text for one of the tricky animals. And then read another fat book.
Back to work for me tomorrow 😭

Someone had created lists for 4 of the sins. Looks like there are some decent options on them.
Yes, the scammers unfortunately always find their way everywhere..... But he's been deleted, so should hopefully not be back.

Yep, Stacie linked to those folders somewhere waaaay back in the beginning of the thread. The book covers are to be taken with a pinch of salt though - as these lists usually always should.

It is Mini Challenge time!!
For Week 4, we'll be tackling the sin of WRATH.
Please check out this post in the Sinful Mini Challenges thread for more information.
Pretty straightforward again and a looot of tasks to choose from so it should be fairly easy to fit in whatever we're reading somewhere without having to go extremely out of our way to find something to read :-)

I added the location/page numbers for the tricky animals and could finish The Golden Compass by the deadline if we have space for it! :)

And yes, go for it! We've got the extra space for one more :-)

So, books for this week so far:
We have 32 finished books.
Vianvamp will finish 1 more (maybe 2).
I will finish 1.
Snowtulip is going to finish 2.
Gemma is going to finish 1.
Rachel can finish 1 more.
Stacie might finish 1 more.
There may be one incoming still from Joy and Eni each. Maybe Jenny (no pressure)?
That gives us a total of 38 books that will be done for certain, with 5 books pending, bringing us to 43 books.
That still leaves us with a little wiggle room. But really just a little.
So Nicole, feel free to grab another one of those bigger tricky animal books if you want and have the time, since you're back to work now :-)

Update on our book status:

Gemma is going to finish 1.
Rachel may finish 1 more.

There may be one incoming still from Joy and Eni each.
And that leaves us with absolutely no more wiggle room. We may even have one book too many if everyone listed is going to finish a book.
So if you aren't reading specifically for a (tricky) animal, I'd suggest taking it easy and finish your book after the countdown to have it count for week 4. Since we do not want to be penalised for over-reading :-)

It might also work for a Sin Bingo so I'm not sure if we can use it for both or only one - I think it's only one

Hmmm... I'll go check. Might just be a space somewhere, though I was sure I had removed all those extra spaces... Ah gotta love spreadsheets :-p
