Sunshine (sunshine22222) | 804 comments Hi, is this purple or blue
1. Cold War (Cold War, #1) by Keira Andrews
2. Score (Men of Hidden Creek - Season 1, #6) by A.E. Wasp

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments At 1st glance the top one looked blue but expanding it on my phone it looks purple. Don’t think #2 is 50%.

message 153: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Well crap, now looking at it on my PC, #1 actually looks blue.

Ashleigh?

Vikki (silverstarz) | 1278 comments Just been skimming through some possible books that I might read at some point during the challenge.

Thoughts on colour for these 2?

Watch Your Back (Romantic Suspense, #15; Baltimore, #4) by Karen Rose - not sure there's enough red to count as 50%?

Let Me Lie by Clare Mackintosh - green cover?

I'd say no to the red one, don't think there is enough to be 50%.

The 2nd one can't tell if it's green or blue. Need another opinion!

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Ok gang, we have about 12 hours till the start of TT! Please remember that books must be started after the start of the game.

Please also remember to:

1. Check in at least 1x per week
2. When you finish a book, please make sure to mark the book as read, add start and end dates, and place on your TT shelf.
3. When you finish a book, please also either mark it on the spreadsheet or post to this thread.
4. Read, read, read :) & have fun!

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments Also the BOMs for November have been announced -

The Chestnut Man by Søren Sveistrup 11/02
Two Can Keep a Secret by Karen M. McManus 11/16

They are taking volunteers for DQs. If no one is interested I'll throw my name in there.

1. Looks blue and purple - ill ask in the captains group.

2. Doesn't look like 50% of one colour

Agree that 1 doesn't look red enough.

2 looks a mix of blue and green and not enough of one colour

Stupid SS question from a first timer...are we adding our completions to the team's planning SS for the captains to place, or are we adding them to the main team SS created by the mods?

message 163: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 735 comments You could either add them to the planning ss or add them here, so we can add them to the official spreadsheet. I believe only Cathy and I have access to that one :)

message 169: by Vikki (new)

Vikki (silverstarz) | 1278 comments I’ve started my first book now

message 170: by Ash (new)

Ash | 206 comments Ahhhhh what a shame that I have to put Defy The Stars on hold!! But the first half was so good that even if I forget everything in it months later after this challenge ends, I’ll be more than happy to re-read it.

Currently starting my first read. Gonna be a night of pizza and reading for me! Good luck to everyone, hope your first read is good!

Blue or purple? It seems to depend on my device when I try to judge. :)

Inconvenient Wife (Charleston #2) by Natasha Boyd

I loved that series!

Almost halfway thru my book and so far its so good! Probably the best of the series so far. ALmost sad that I'm almost done with it.

message 175: by Kristin (new)

Kristin | 120 comments Happy games! I will be starting with The Cruel Prince (The Folk of the Air, #1) by Holly Black which will fit in the Envy category as the main genre is Young Adult

There are a lot of mixed feelings on that one but I actually liked it. Hope you enjoy!

message 177: by Kelly (new)

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Just finished Batman Nightwalker (DC Icons, #2) by Marie Lu :) It's on my shelf. Looks like it would fit Envy or Pride based on top shelves page.

Still working on Quicksilver.

message 178: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (writers_soul) | 426 comments Okay probably a stupid question, but I want to make sure I have this right since this is my first TT. Does the book for each Sin need to fit all 3 of the elements (color, genre, and criteria)? Or just one of them to count?

You can pick one of the 3 elements or if your book matches all 3, you can get a sin bingo which is worth more points, but no not every book needs to fit all 3 elements.

No worries, we want you to ask questions if you don't understand!

Any book you read will give us book points and should meet 1 of the criteria for one of the sins. It can be color cover or Genre or Sin Specification. If your book happens to meet all 3 criteria for 1 Sin, that is what is called a Sin Bingo and garners us 7 bonus points. Color color is 5 points, Genre is 3 points, and Sin Specification is 1 point, except for Avarice's Anything Goes where books that don't fit any others would fit. But it's better to fit it under one of the others if possible since Anything Goes gives us 0 bonus points.

Amanda (writers_soul) | 426 comments Thanks guys! :) that’s what I thought but I’m like “better make sure before I start reading”! I’m going to add a couple books to the spread sheet.

message 184: by Cathy M. (new)

Cathy M. (mccathy77) | 5976 comments No problem!

Can you please link your TT shelf? I looked thru and saw that you hadn't created one yet. Or none that I could see.

message 185: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (writers_soul) | 426 comments What would you guys suggest for My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrick Backman:

Pride: Contemporary genre (has been shelved 524 times on goodreads)

Sloth: Criteria; on my TBR shelf for 2+ years.

I’m thinking it should be fine for pride which is worth more points, but just wanted opinions :) Sorry I couldn’t tag the book I’m on my phone tonight my computer 🤮 out on me. Gotta get the other one out tomorrow.

I think Pride (Vanity) would be better.

Pride would be worth more points

Ashleigh | 735 comments Kelly - just double checking, but did you start reading Batman:Nightwalker after the challenge started?

message 192: by Vikki (new)

Vikki (silverstarz) | 1278 comments Ashleigh wrote: "That looks green to me"

Thanks... will probably add it to my list for this challenge. I've a good yellow cover that's been on my shelf for a year.

Thank you, I'll use purple.
On my phone it looks purple, but on my computer it looks blue, and the site-that-shall-not-be-named says blue as well. :)

message 194: by Jill (new)

Jill | 938 comments Started my first book for this challenge! My reading plans have kind of gone out the window though because both of my audiobooks are borrowed atm. I'll have to look through for something to replace them

message 195: by Jill (new)

Jill | 938 comments Can I read Tunnel of Bones (Cassidy Blake, #2) by Victoria Schwab ?

message 196: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 735 comments Yeah, can't see why not Jill.

message 197: by Jill (new)

Jill | 938 comments Ashleigh wrote: "Yeah, can't see why not Jill."

Because it's a childrens book. I couldn't find it on the AR search thing. City of Ghosts, which is the first book in this series, passes the 25k word rule. Just wanted to double check..

message 198: by Jill (new)

Jill | 938 comments The Wallflower Wager (Girl Meets Duke, #3) by Tessa Dare Would this count for purple

message 199: by Jill (new)

Jill | 938 comments Also, for genre, is it MPG or tagged?

message 200: by Ashleigh (new)

Ashleigh | 735 comments It's round about the same page count as City of Ghosts so I would say it's okay.

Not sure if that's purple enough. Cathy, your thoughts?

For genre, it has to be within the first 20 tags, I believe
