Ok, send me the list and I'll slot mine accordingly
We only have to do the BOM DQs for one day to get the points, correct? I did Day 1, but I'm not really feeling the questions for this one, but I'll answer them if necessary. :)
I think you have to take part in the discussion and post a number of comments. I'll find out how many comments you need to post to get the points for it.
Q: What does it mean "Participating in a BOM" ? Answering one set or one comment? Or do we need to answer all days to get the points? Or do we get points for each set of questions answered?A:Provided you add to the discussion at some stage through the book. It doesn't need to be answering a set of questions if that doesn't appeal to you. You may just pop over and give some thoughts at different stages. It is just one set of points per book. However you do need to interact with others in the BOM thread for it to be considered “participation”. The rule of thumb is three sets of questions.
Posting my book updates. I have read 3. Had a good start to the week. Starting my 4th book now. Let me know if extra books are needed.
Namita, if you could fit in another one, that'd be great. So far we only have 36 books claimed for this week, and it's better to have more than too little in case people aren't able to read everything they listed. And also so we can try to complete at least 5 words for the mini-challenge.Added your book to the planning sheet Jill.
I definitely can, Cathy. I will be done with my 4th book tomorrow. I’m sure I can get a book or two read by Sunday.
I want to put in my update early this week so hopefully another team member can read an extra book. I will finish Alex and Eliza by the end of the week, but will probably have to push The Toll to next week.
Change of reading plans. Not reading Tunnel of Bones.Currently reading
Sorry this is due to my library soon
The Lost Girls of Paris and Ask Again Yes will be my last 2 books for this week Next week being the holiday, I prob won't get much done. But will still aim for my 2 minimum
Can I check what way this book will work - it's 3 in 1. Looks like the first 2 books are pretty short but the 3rd one is longer. Do I have to count each book separately or does it just count as 1 book??A Gingerbread Cafe Christmas

Soo.. your book has been the subject of much debate in the captains' group and while it doesn't say the book is a boxed set per se, the fact that all 3 stories included in the book were published separately and that the 3rd story is over 100 pages, maybe it would be best not to use this one. I think that is the best option just to be on the safe side.

I've no shortage of Christmas books to read. Was thinking of that cause it's probably been on my shelf longest.
Anyway, would this be enough to count for a blue cover? If not I'll stick down as contemporary
I'll get 1 more book read this week, A Cotswold Christmas which I've already added to the mini challenge spread sheet. Only started this evening & nearly half way through.
Thanks Vikki! How is everyone else doing? We have about 1 1/2 days left for this round and there are still a lot of books being worked on. Please post ASAP if you are unable to finish your books so we can move things around to complete some words!!
Here is the Countdown Timer until the end of the round. Please make sure you post your completions at least 30 minutes before deadline!! If you don't think you'll be able to finish in time, please post in the thread so we can make any adjustments needed and hold off on finishing until after the next round starts so the book can be counted.
COMPLETION POST
Book: Grannen
Date: 11/23/19
Pages: audiobook, default edition 609 pages
Rating: 3 stars
I will have mine completed in time and can add at least one more. Is there a particular letter you'd prefer I fill with it?
ETA: I added one under "E" on the SS but it would also work for "A" and "D"

Thanks all for the updates! & thanks Cyndee for finding another one to fit in :) I've been going around filling in words and moving books around (but not yet posted to the main sheet) & finally have it done. I'll post at the bottom of the planning sheet once it's been finalized/round is done so you can see what was entered.
Details for next mini-challenge was posted! & this is going to be more challenging than any of the previous ones...GLUTTONY MINI-CHALLENGE
Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.
For this mini-challenge, your team is going to try to read higher and higher numbers in series. In other words, you're going to build a ladder of books from series, starting with the lowest and going as high as you can get.
However, they need to be finished consecutively. #3 cannot be finished before #1, and #10 cannot be finished before #6. You may skip numbers on your way up, but you cannot read for a number that is lower than the one that has been read previously. The ladder only goes up, not down.
◈ Only books finished between 25th November and 2nd December will count for the Gluttony mini challenge (i.e. books finished in week 8).
◈ Books will either count towards the main part of the challenge (the Seven Deadly Sins) or towards this mini challenge.
◈ It needs to be clearly visible on GoodReads which # in the series the book is.
◈ For books that are part of a sub-series (e.g. Discworld titles) we will be using the information on the book's main page. e.g. The Wee Free Men is #30 in the Discworld series, not #1 in the Tiffany Aching sub series
◈ Only whole number entries allowed (no in-between .1s).
◈ Books need to be finished in order.
◈ One ladder per team.
◈ You will gain 5 points per book in the ladder.
◈ As each ladder gains 3 rungs you will receive a bonus 10 points.
Hey everyone, we have about 35 minutes to the end of the round so please post any completions! If you are not quite done and don't think you'll be done by deadline, please stop reading and wait until the next round so we can use it then :) & let us know ASAP so we can move books around!!!
Yay Jill, just in time!We have finished Envy week with:
41 completed books
1746 book points
240 mini-challenge points
40 BOM points
Finished #10 of 16 teams
Currently #4 for Mini-Challenge points
Ok gang, Gluttony week has begun! Anyone reading a #1 in series book that you can finish today/tomorrow at latest?
Also as a reminder, if you are unable to contribute to our mini-challenge this week, this is the last week you can read one of the Bad Books Recs for 5 points for the Lust mini-challenge. I know this week will be busy for a lot of you due to Thanksgiving (I'm the opposite - I can read more because I have Wed-Fri off work) so please shout out if you will be reading less. I'm going to try to read as many series books as I can so we can get more mini-challenge points!

I'm reading a short #1 that I can have finished tonight. It won't do much for page points but it can get the mini-challenge started.

I will be reading less as I am flying to my moms house for the holiday. I will get a good chunk in on my flying days (tomorrow and Saturday), but the rest not as much. I will finish The Lost Girls of Paris and I can do
which is #2 in a series. I can finish that one pretty quickly since it is only 5 hr audio. And then I can get one more physical book in. Not sure which one yet, but won't be for the mini since it will take me the whole week
So what plan of attack do you want to take for the mini? I will be reading just as much this week as usual, and I have several series I can pull from that I'm all over the place for numbers.
That's a great start! But it will take some coordination on all of our parts. So:#1 - Cyndee - finish tonight
#2 - Jill (please dont finish until after Cyndee posts that she completed her book!)
#3 - I'm change my book from 2 to 3 since I don't think you have to read this series in order - I'll probably read most of it tonight & will stop from completing it until Jill posts her completion
#4 - Cyndee?
I think it will be mostly us reading for the mini-challenge since we're the bigger readers. I filled in some spots on the planning sheet - mostly later in the week (#6, #11, #12, #18) but can fill in earlier spots too. Just wanted to put in the books that I know I'll read for sure. Everything else is up in the air.
Once you complete a book, please just make sure you post here that you've completed so the next person can finish their read. It's
a relay so even if you can't log the book yet because you're on mobile, as long as it is clear that one book has been completed then the next person can go/finish.
Namita if you have a #3 book I can change mine to 4 or 5. I'm just reading the SiGMA force books which don't really need to be read in order (I think). I liked the 1st one, reminded me of Dan Brown who I like.We can also skip #s if we need to. Just figured it would he easier to read the lower #s.
I definitely think it will be easier to keep it to the lower #s. I can fit in wherever you need. If I read ahead I can always hold off finishing the final chapter, though I wouldn't want to hold off like that for days.
This is going to test our communication and cooperation like never before! But it will be fun to try! :)

Oh yea, this is definitely going to test us. Hopefully everyone who would like to participate will be able to post promptly (& often) so we can keep it moving. It's not going to work for the members who rarely post, and don't post completions until the end of the week. For any of our slower readers, if you would like to participate, might be better to pick a bigger number (over #7 in series) so you have time to read and then post your completion.
I was waiting to see what Namita had, and need to know when Jill will be able to finish her book. Theoretically it would be best if you can finish your book tonight, #2 right after, but need to know what Jill's timeframe will be.
You can start looking for a #4 or #5 and something between #7-#10 books (maybe 2 betw those #s so you're not sitting around too long). I was waiting to see what Namita had to read but I'm going to go ahead and take #3 since I'm about to eat lunch (& starting a book).
Oh awesome, thanks Jill! Just keep an eye out for Cyndee's completion of book 1 before you finish :)That means we should have 1-3 done by tomorrow:
1 - Cyndee
2 - Jill
3 - Cathy
Almost done with my #1. I can do #4 and have it done by tomorrow night. I'll keep an eye out and hold off on the last chapter until I see you post completion for #3 Cathy! :)

I'll place your books into the mini challenge, if you would like. Cathy has gone through the little card we got and found 6 words consisting of 7 letters each, but we're not revealing them in case we have some spies from other teams visiting our thread or planning ss.
So if you would like, I can send you the words by pm, but essentially for now, we're just putting the individual letters on the planning ss and when all the words have been completed, we will post them onto the main ss along with the words we're using.
Usual spell-it-out rules apply - first letter in the following:
- first word in title
- author first name / last name
- first word in series name
- character first name / last name
- audiobook narrator first name / last name (if listening to audiobook)
- translator first name / last name (if reading a translated book)
