Elantis is his first book. You can clearly see that Mistborn was much more smoother. Elantis is by no means bad, his narrative is pretty good. I'm never bored.
I had to switch one of my books out as the library wouldn't have it available in time for this week. I will use it next week.

I do the same thing :) Funny because I never noticed that Avarice was used so much!
Update on my progress from Prague, both books going well & I’ll definitely finish both by the deadline - possibly even before I get home on Friday afternoon
In mini challenge for 142, book with poison in title, would Pumpkin Spice & Poisoning work? Can't add link but it's the next book in series after my current book Blueberries & Bereavement by Katherine Hayton
Great job Vikki! Hope you're enjoying your trip to Prague!Sure, it's a reasonable variation so that book should work for Poison in title.
And just FYI - for the tasks that state "Criteria ..." please make sure you are reading the explanations on the Murder & Mayhem threads for the justification.Murder & Mayhem Part 1
Murder & Mayhem Part 2
Thanks Cathy!! My series/book is listed under Technothriller...fantastic!!! :DTechnothriller: Technothrillers are a hybrid genre, drawing subject matter generally from science fiction, thrillers, spy, action, and war. The inner workings of technology and the mechanics of various disciplines (espionage, martial arts, politics) are thoroughly explored, and the plot often turns on the particulars of that exploration. Examples: Jurassic Park Series; Sigma Force Series; Jack Ryan Series; Patrick McLanahan Series; Jeffery Deaver’s The Blue Nowhere.
Sorry, didn't realize the series was listed. But I think we still need to justify it - give an explanation on how it fits. So I added "Sigma group investigates the mystery of a viral outbreak & tracks the terrorists who want to use it as a weapon." to your description. Think I got it right based on skimming some of the reviews. And it sounds like something I would like so might have to try this series!

Finished one today. Really trying to finish Mrs. Everything by the deadline. Struggling this week because of the shower. TBH, I don't even know if I'll get it done since my mom gets here today. Will keep working on it and update you

So how is everyone else doing for this week?"
I just finished planning out the rest of mine for the week and putting them in the SS. I was able to fit some into the mini-challenge, as I actually read them, that I originally didn't think were going to work out so that's a plus. I should have all 8 complete before the deadline on Sunday.

I've finished my second book & am well through a third, I'll get it finished. They're lower page numbers but work for the mini challenge
I have my last book to finish. It's a bit of a slow go because of Halloween and all celebrations. I should be able to finish it later today.
I’m not gonna finish Mrs. Everything. I’m so sorry guys!! Totally swamped with work, my shower, and out of towners. Will get back in my groove after this weekend
Had another crazy week and I’m still sick (literally going on a month now 👎🏻). I’ll have 2 books done. The Summer Before Boys and another short one I’ll add to the spreadsheet today. Grandmother asked me to tell you she’s sorry will have to get pushed to next week.
Hi everyone. So Week 5 also has a mini-challenge. This time it's for Lust!Link to full details here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Currently on my phone but I will post the full rules here later today :)
LUST MINI-CHALLENGELust is a powerful desire for something or someone. A strong craving, a deep hunger for pleasure.
We were so overcome with desire for books and stories that this mini challenge has two parts. Don't let your cravings for points take over good sense: be careful to read the rules for each part, as there are different rules for when books must be read.
Part One
We long for stories of all types. For this part of the mini-challenge we are going to play Consequences with book titles!
Use books titles to fill out the prompts, to make a story.
◈ Only books finished between 4th and 11th November will count for Part One of the Lust mini challenge (i.e. books finished in week 5).
◈ Books will either count towards the main part of the challenge (the Seven Deadly Sins) or towards this mini challenge.
◈ You can fill out up to 7 sets of prompts
◈ You will gain 2 points per book
◈ You will gain an additional 14 points for each completed story
◈ Mod points likely for the best stories
Example under the spoiler
(view spoiler)
Part Two
For the next few weeks in the challenge (weeks 5 - 8), read books recommended in the Bad Books thread here
◈ Only books started on or after 4th November and finished by 2nd December will count for Part Two the Lust mini challenge (i.e. books started and finished between weeks 5 - 8).
◈ Books will either count towards the main part of the challenge (the Seven Deadly Sins) or towards this mini challenge.
◈ You will gain 5 points per book read.
◈ More than one team member can read the same book.
◈ If you read a Bad Book recommendation between 4th and 11th November (i.e. during week 5) you can use it in Part One as well as Part Two
◈ Please do chat about the books you've read in the Bad Books thread!

Done!! Sorry about that. I updated the SS but forgot the book. 🙈🙈
Looks like we have more than enough books for this week so no worries Jill! Hope your had a blast at your shower!Great job everyone! Please make sure to take a look at the Bad Books Recs (there is a listopia of all of them) because we get extra points for reading them. BUT they can't be started until after deadline.
Please also keep in mind here in the US the time change for daylight savings time happens tonight (unless you're in AZ)!! Please make sure to take that into account for the deadline tomorrow -
Countdown Clock
Looks like it is:
12pm on 11/3 PST US
3pm on 11/3 EST US
8pm on 11/3 London time (?)

Question
- For the “Lust” mini-challenge you can get only 2 points per book, plus an additional 14 points if you complete the story, correct?
So, are the Sinful Pride points worth more than the “Lust” mini-challenge points?

BUT if you read one of the Bad Books Recs, it is total 7 points (like Sin Bingo) for this week.
COMPLETION POSTBook: A Curse So Dark and Lonely
Pages: 477
Date: 11/2/19
Rating: 5 stars
Sin: Sloth - blue cover
It's very important that completions get posted with enough time before the deadline so that we can check and input the books. You posted too late so we missed the deadline and might not be able to use it. Unfortunate because it was worth 52 points :/
Week 4 is officially done & we are on to Lust week (Week 5)!We finished with:
44 books completed
1860 total book points
0 total BOM points
165 total Mini-Challenge points
Currently 11th of 16 teams (so moved up 1!)
If any of you are interested in
(parody of Fifty Shades & P&P), there is a buddy read in the Backroom that also gets 7 mod points in addition to the 5 points for Part 2 of the mini-challenge :)Here is the link.
Definitely brown. And if anything makes you ragey (if you can justify it), it would work for Sin Bingo :)

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (other topics)The Kiss Quotient (other topics)
Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory (other topics)

Which would you say is an easier read (in terms of easier to "get" re the world-building, plot, etc)? Elantris or Mistborn? Maybe I'll give in and try before TT is up.
