Emile Never posted before, but thought I would put a plug in for Clive Cussler for anyone who has not read one of his books. He is consistently on the mark for excitement and adventure, with some historical fact thrown in. The Oregon Files are my favorite but all are good. This particular one Pacific Vortex leaves me with a question as to how his Dirks two children were conceived, but that is another topic.

Feliks Bravo. Some groups (here on this site) you may wish to join and discuss further:

and my review of Cussler, in general:

Alycia I couldn't get into this one. I think I went in expecting Tom Clancy-type action, and was not expecting the SF aspects. So during the whole book I was in a state of disbelief and wound up deciding not to read any more of the series.

Feliks He was more loosey-goosey when he was just starting out. I agree.

Pamela Mclaren Cussler is always a good read and I like the bit of history mixed in with the clever stories. I describe it as a big dose of daring do with a handsome, always succeeding hero. The only bit that I disliked was for a while Cussler introduced himself into every book. Once was clever after that it felt like he was patting himself on the back.

Feliks Huge ego, that Cussler

Michael Most of Cussler's work is now co-authored by a stable of writers, but they are consistent concerning character and style. The only one which falters is his son Dirk Cussler. He must take after his mother.
My favorite is the original NUMA series Dirk Pitt. I also like the Oregon series.

Feliks There's something in what you say.
