One of the books in this series - Surviving the Applewhites - has the series name with the title; the other Applewhites at Wit's End does not.

Done that.

But I have a confusion. Surviving the Applewhitesdidn't have the series name with the title and I added it. But the second book Applewhites at Wit's End has the series name (Applewhites Family, #2) with the title.

What's the actual series name? Applewhites or Applewhites Family?
I googled it but got no relevant information.

I thought typically a series was named after the first book, if no other name was apparent?

If there is a common name or place (e.g., Applewhites), that is often a better option.

Vinny, the librarian who added the (Applewhites Family, #2) is still active and appears to be accepting messages. You might try messaging her and asking if she remembers where that came from. If she doesn't (it has been almost 2 years), I'd stick with what's on the series page.

It's not. It's the person who added "(Applewhites Family, #2)" to the title. Scroll back through the book's edits and you should find it fairly quickly.
