Located at the center of the school (as per usual), this concrete floored center is the main location of large events, such as balls, raffles, and the like.

Corvus | 54 comments Andarian was sitting quietly at the edge of the courtyard with a small notepad in his hands. He was scribbling latin into its thin lined pages with a pencil that was all but a stub now. His face was hidden by a deep black hood and his dark grey cloak cascaded over his shoulders and covered his arms. All that could be seen of him were boots and his tan hands. Andarian shook his head and scribbled out a few words from his notebook. No.... no no no... That won't work. He thought to himself as he stared down at the light pencil strokes he had been teasing into the soft paper for over an hour and a half. He sighed and pulled his hood from his head revealing short brown hair. He shook his head again and set the pencil and notepad down on the ground in front of him. He rubbed his eyes and then folded his hands over the bridge of his nose. I'm so close to perfecting my second spell... So close...

Corvus | 54 comments Andarian kept his head still but allowed his eyes to swivel over to the new personality in the courtyard. Maybe I can try it on her... He thought to himself. Maybe. Andarian nodded and picked his notepad up once more. A light flickered in his head and his eyes brightened as he realized what he was doing wrong the entire time. The spell was already practically perfect! He was simply using the wrong terminology. It is not called a flock nor is it called a pack of crows. It is called a murder. Andarian grinned as he slowly made his way to his feet. He swept his long coat tail behind him and stared down at the new words he had scribbled onto the page. He looked at the page one last time and then moved his eyes to the girl with a small nod.

message 4: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments He shook his head and closed his eyes. When he opened them again, Andarian's eyes were the same piercing blue yet they seemed sharper than before, brighter, even. His voice was low and slightly intimidating as he spoke the incantation of his newly formed spell. "Fuge ad caedem." The words rolled past his lips as water floods past a cliff. His eyes went pitch black and his skin slowly molted into feathers, falling off of his body. Several crows emerged from the floating blue and black feathers. They cawed and quickly made their way to Skylar.

((Translation => Fuge ad caedem => Fly with the murder))
((A murder is a flock of crows))

message 5: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments The crows cawed once more and slowly started returning to the form of Andarian. "It was simply a transportation spell." He muttered. He shook his head and rubbed his nose. It obviously needs work if it is unable to break a simple shielding spell. After all, transportation needs to get you anywhere possible. Andarian shook his head once more. "Thank you, madam, for allowing me to correct my spell." He said with a small bow. He threw his hood up over his head and rubbed his eyes with his index fingers, "So much work to do. Too much work." He mumbled just loud enough for Skylar to hear. "I suppose it was rather rude of me to use a spell toward you without permission. I am greatly sorry." He bowed again, "My deepest apologies, ma'am."

message 6: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments "Ah. Sky." He smiled, "What a wonderful name." He nodded. "And I will refrain from referring to you as madam. Is ma'am still within your title boundaries? Or would you like me to refer to you as Sky, and only Sky?" He asked as he rubbed his stubbly chin. "Oh, how rude, my name is Andarian. Please do not refer to me as Andi." He sighed, "Such a horrid nickname for a boy." He shook his head and dropped his hands to his sides, "I would rather you call me Crow or Andarian if you do not mind." He nodded. "And, yes, although there is not a large workload from our professors it is rather easy to get caught up in the studies of different types of magick. May I suggest a stronger protection spell for you?" He asked. "That one is rather basic and your top priority," He put his hand above his head to indicate top, "Is to learn the best ways to protect yourself."

message 7: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments He nodded and smiled at the praise, "Thank you. Although, I must admit that it is rather weak." He sighed, "It couldn't even get passed a level zero protection spell." He mumbled. "But, practice makes perfect I suppose. I simply need to use the spell a bit more and eventually it will be up to level three he nodded. "All it needs is level three." He mumbled to himself as he scribbled something down on his notepad. He nodded and smiled as he dropped the pad into an inner pocket of his cloak. "Sky, if you do not mind my asking, how long have you been at this school?"

message 8: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments "Oh, it wouldn't have done anything to you." He said with a slight shake of the head. "Well, besides startle you a bit, i suppose." He shrugged. "As I said, it is a simple transportation spell that i created. If i wished to hurt you i would have conjured a storm." He said with a low, rumbling laugh. He shook his head, "But i do not intend on injuring level zeroes. It may give the school, and myself, a bad reputation."

message 9: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments "I am a level three student at this academy." He nodded. "Although I have been here for three years i am only capable of using my own, now two, spells alongside a multitude of air element oriented spells." He nodded. "However I do plan on try to learn the element of earth rather soon. Maybe make crows from mud and rock rather than air. Make them stronger." He nodded and pulled his notepad out. He scribbled down the idea and dropped it back into the inner pocket of his cloak.

message 10: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments He nodded, "Yes, air magick is rather dependable. It just so happens to be everywhere." He said as he motioned his arms across the courtyard. "There is air everywhere which makes using this magick rather simple at times." He put his hands down and sat next to her on the bench. "But earth magick, is rather hard. Have to be around dirt or sand or something of the sorts."

message 11: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments He nodded and crossed his arms, "Well, i suppose that dust is still within the ranges of the earth element. Although... It could be air as well." He whispered to himself. "I do not know. It does not matter." He nodded. "Do you plan on learning any other types of magick?" He asked as he started listing some off, "Necromantic, summoning... The like."

message 12: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments "If you want protection i would not suggest necromantic magicks." He nodded. "Not at all protective in any way, shape or form." He rubbed his eyes again and looked down at his feet. "And i as well came here looking for a place to belong. My parents deny magick completely. Hate the idea of it. And now they hate the idea of me as well." He mumbled. "But that matters no more.

message 13: by Corvus (new)

Corvus | 54 comments He nodded and gave a small bow. "If you ever need advice or spell help feel free to ask." He said with a tight lipped smile. He pulled a small watch out of his cloak and widened his eyes, "If you would not mind... I must do something in the gardens." He whispered as he quickly stuffed the watch back into his cloak.

message 15: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona yawned and stretched, her legs carrying her out towards the courtyard. She could usually could be found on the roof, shooting random sparks of fire for fun. Her eyes scanned the area as she continued to walk. Her eyes landed on an unfamiliar head of blonde. Out of curiosity, she decided to make her way over to the new comer. She she got closer, she noticed the beauty that adorned the female's face. Smirking, she stood in front of her and watched her read for a second before speaking.

"Hello, stranger. You seem to be into that novel." she said with a laughing tone, hoping she came off friendly instead of imposing. People who didn't know her at first would sometimes think that.

message 16: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona chuckled and took the Skylar's hand, shaking it firmly before placing it on her hip. "No, I don't plan on it. Today is a lazy day for me." she said, looking up into the sky before taking a seat next to her. "My professer is not free today. So, I'm free for the time being." she said with a smile.

Verona looked around the courtyard again before looking back at Skylar. "What year is he? I might know him." she said, her eyes staring straight into Skylar's. When she speaks to someone, she always give them her full attention.

message 17: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona took this moment to scan through her brain, trying to match the name to the face. After a few moments, a lightbulb came on and she gasped in realization.

"The Air boy! Yeah, I know of him. He's quite unique." she said, smiling as she looked back at Skylar. She looked her over a few times before deciding to ask the big question. "So, what element are you? I'm fire." she said, twirling a strand of her blonde hair as she waited for an answer.

message 18: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona smiled and brought one knee up to her ample chest, wrapping her arms around it before answering the question. "I'm a 4th year. I came here when I was 16 years old." she said, her eyes smiling along with her. Earth and fire is a pretty interesting mix. She doesn't know much about the Earth element, and she would not mind learning more about it.

"How much do you know about the element you choose? Did you study up on it or did you choose it through gut feeling?" she asked, looking back at Skylar.

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona nodded her head slowly, looking out towards the adorning trees. She replayed what Skylar had said, feeling comfort emmitting from her being as she spoke on her element and experience with it so far. It made her think about her own element. She breathed out a sigh before responding.

"I have nothing for you to envy." she said in a low tone, looking out in the distance before continuing. "When I first came here, I hated it. I didn't know anybody, I was cold to people, and I closed myself off from everybody." She looked down to the ground, her eyes glassing over before speaking again. "I discovered my element through my immense anger. Whenever I got angry, I would set something on fire. Because of that, I had to be sent here. It was the only way to help me tame the fire."

She wasn't one to share such an intimate part of her life, but she felt at ease around Skylar. They were two different people who look at their elements in different ways. Skylar was at peace with her, and she was on edge. Yes, she can use her magic at will. However, she still has that fear of endangering others.

message 20: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona allowed this information to sink in, feeling a little guilty for being happy that someone else had it a little hard too. Shaking her head slowly, Verona looked over to her and smiled.

"There's no need to apologize. In fact, I didn't mean to impose on you such depressing things." she said softly. She reached her hand over and grasped Skylar's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "I'm happy to know you share the same comfort I have with you to share such intimate information." She closed her eyes and smiled a little bigger. "Let's be friends. Maybe we can help each other become more at ease with ourselves." she said, her voice holding a rare softness to it.

message 21: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona laughed lightly and nodded her head, holding Skyler's hand against her chest. "You're welcome, hun. You're my first friend out of all the acquaintances I made here." she said softly. She did not know why she was being so warm with Skylar, no pun intended. She guess Earth and Fire really does mix well. "Besides, it will be fun to have a pretty girl like you as a friend!" she said with a bright smile, chuckling as she looked Skylar in the eyes with mirth.

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments ((Okay, I'll remember that :) ))

Verona tilted her head to the side before realizing she hadn't told Skylar her name. "Oh! I'm Verona." she exclaimed, releasing her hands and placing them on her cheeks in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry!" she said with a laughed, shaking her head at how airheaded she was for the moment.

"And to respond to your offer, I wouldn't mind having you read to me." she said with a smirk, her eyes holding mischief. "I like hot and steamy stuff." she teased, making a pun towards her own element before laughing.

message 24: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona smirked and folded her arms, chuckling before speaking. "I can easily direct you to some 'dirty' novels, Sky." She took a look at Skylar's novel and picked it up, holding it up as if to make a point. "Fluff is overrated, honey." she joked, sticking her tongue out and placing it back down on the bench between them. She look back at her new friend and smiled brightly, reaching over to run her fingers through her hair. "And you have blonde hair like me! Twins!" she laughed, her cheeks dusting over with happiness.

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona chuckled and flipped her own hair using her other hand. "Oops, didn't know." she said, smiling sheepishly before moving closer to play with Sky's hair. She herself was more of a steamy reader. She hated for things to be drawn out and slow. "I myself like for things to be straight to the point. I hate having to wait for things to happen." she said, shaking her head as she thought about it. "I have an imagination, but my imagination works quickly." she joked, reaching closer to her scalp to lightly massage it.

message 26: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Luna (Akia-chan) | 24 comments Verona snickered and stuck her tongue out, taking her hands out of Skylar's hair before speaking. "Yeah. It's inevitable to run from my element. I am a sparky person." she said as a matter of fact. She looked over to Sky and smiled, folding one leg over the other. "And I don't mind helping you get along in this place. It's not that bad once you get use to it." she said cheerfully, using her hands to emphasize her point.
