Can the upcoming book be read as a standalone? Because it says that its the 4th of the series..

Yes, it's a standalone book and technically not of the Detective Galileo series (Devotion of Suspect X & Salvation of a Saint).

It's the fourth novel by Keigo Higashino translated in English and belongs to the Detective Kaga series which was published before the Detective Galileo series in Japan.
